Description
EDIT: Finally added a description for Kyle, which has been missing since I originally posted this. When I started I thought I was going to have only five pages, and I would be done by this point... but it seems I still have quite a ways to go. Oi, oi oi!
Again, it took me until most of the way through the picture to realize I was doing something wrong. In this case, I was using the wrong size brush for the ink tool! Auuugh!!
Here's the sketch page which has everyone identified with name and race... except a few of them I'm a little iffy on if their races should be grouped with others or if I should separate them... [link]
Fleer; Polwinko - I'm a reconsidering whether or not he should be classified as an Ekishi, but when I first made him he was part of the same race. Fleer lives on Korona, a planet based on a more D&D-esque culture and level of technology. He's a warrior of sorts, and a cocky bastard. In earlier renditions of him, he was a partner of a thief that was one of ~FoxBandit 's characters. I haven't dealt with him much lately, unfortunately - I'm considering reintroducing him to something soon.
Zoey Grace; Lukiria -Zoey is sort of an adopted son of an Earthen merchandise carrier ( AKA a "trucker" on Earth, though Earthen vehicles aren't allowed on Makrabeh or Lopezz ) named Benjamin ( AKA "Benny" ). As a young child he followed the human around, and ended up being taken under Benny's figurative wing when Benny learned that Zoey didn't have any parents. They've helped each other out quite a bit over the years, and Benny now spends more time on Lopezz than Earth, working to be a resident. Zoey is a bit of a delinquent, but tends to shape up when around Benny.
Tod; Spirit-Ghost thing? -Tod was a character I made many years ago as a person-thing that existed between the material and spirit planes - in both and neither at the same time. I think I was inspired by the concept of poltergeist and apparitions at the time. Or something. He eventually ended up partnered with Angelina and became a spirit guide who can actually affect the physical world from time to time.
Angelina; Phoenix Spirit-guide - This was back in the day that I named things stupid. In any case, Angelina has evolved quite a bit through the years. She started as a girl who was hit by a car sometime in December, and has since become a spirit guide for the recently deceased. Her colouration was somewhat based on a cardinal and I think came out fairly well.
Radon; Ekishi - Radon started as a character that was supposed to fill the niche that Rodney eventually filled. Radon started out as a fairly loud, boisterous character who was a "social butterfly" type, and has since kept many of his original qualities, but developed a unique case of schizophrenia somewhat based on watching the movie "A Beautiful Mind". He's cheerful and gentle, but occasionally talks to his friend Seazle, who most people don't seem to notice is actually there. In this most recent rendition I think he looks a bit like a scruffy, energetic scottish guy. His original design was based on an Iguana.
Seazle; Lukiria -I either created this character along with Radon or he ended came very shortly afterwards. Radon very quickly became the character he is today regardless of how he started, so the two characters are likely about the same age. I don't think Seazle was ever anything but a figment of Radon's imagination, though. Seazle is, however, often times a voice of reason for Radon, like the friend that will go to any party you invite him to but will also caution if things get a little too out of hand.
Demon Log - It's a demonic log. I'm not sure what else there is to say about this character. It was never really developed, just an inside joke between ~nnys-daughter and I.
Kyle Santler; Fairy-Fox - Kyle was, first of all, based on someone I knew in high school who was very flamboyantly gay and one of the best friends I've had for the shortest time. He was my friend from the start and helped me learn a great deal about getting to know people, so I drew him as a fairy-fox one day, and the character stuck. Kyle has the power to control space and time at a whim, and uses this power to open tailor shops all over the multiverse. In each shop is a bell, and when rung it "alerts" Kyle to a customer. Kyle is also immortal and a shape-shifter, changing his appearance at will in order to better fit in with whatever intelligent life his tailor shop has incorporated with. Since he's immortal and can bend time and space to his will, he has eternity to fill every single request at every single shop. However, he still tends to try to keep time linear, because doing something with the past, even on a planet galaxies away from another, could affect other places and times, and, in his own words, "It's like a check-list this way." Kyle, essentially, ties all of my worlds together in this way, and is the cause of Russell and Zen reuniting.
Suike; Lukiria -The name "Suike" was also an inside joke between ~nnys-daughter and I that I ended up using for a space pirate that was going to join up with Jorinn-Zak and Joshu at some point or something. Nothing ever really became of it, but I still love the idea of having a space pirate crew in my back pocket, so the character has stuck around. The original character, before being christened her name, was created for a project I was doing in high school focusing on character creation and development. As for her personality, her crew respects her and views her as strict but fair. I think she might also do taxidermy on the side or something. As mentioned at the beginning of all this, Suike and Vakkel are two of the characters I am strongly considering giving them a race of their own instead of grouping them with Lukiria.
Vakkel; Lukiria -Vakkel is the runner for Suike's crew. He does scouting and occasionally meets with clients and customers if Suike thinks they might be fishy since Vakkel does a fairly good job of watching out for himself and, well, running if things go sour. Vakkel was originally a character I dreamt myself as who was a part of Suike's crew, and frankly, I like the first picture I drew of him a whole lot better: [link]
