I've been rewatching Tamers. And Tamers is an awesome series but it's completely unfair. I don't know a lot of people who don't get upset because of the last five minutes. I mean Janyuu for crying out loud. Communication, it's what the adults in this series never learn how to do. Very frustrating.
I like the idea of the Tamers reuniting with their Digimon later on, as the CD drama Message In The Packet suggests.Β And this picture is... hahah, quite later on, I guess. Seven, eight years? But they all get their happy, tearful reunion, and that's all that matters. Yes, even Juri and Leomon! I saw this lovely headcanon and I decided to adopt it because it makes me happy.

I don't care if Tamers/Season 3 Digital World different from the first one, that must happen somehow.
I would imagine whatever is left of Leomon, his data or conscious, can reconstruct him back together.

I personally believe that the Runaway Locomon movie (even with the continuity errors in it) and the CD audio drama are BOTH canon alternatives. Because after the end of episode 51, when Takato sees that portal and realizes he (and the other Tamers) can go back to the Digital World and reunite with Guilmon (and the other Digimon partners), that very final scene of the show makes it pretty clear that this reunion IS going to happen. And then Konaka, this Japanese George R.R. Martin, sucker-punches us ONE YEAR LATER with "Message in the Packet", telling us: "Oh but actually, it would cause disturbance between the two worlds. So yeah, they can't reunite yet, Yamaki told Takato he forbade it. Too bad.". And even if the audio drama establishes (through Takato's message) that because of that, Henry/Jian's father is working to improve the Ark to allow the Tamers to travel to the Digital World safely and with no repercussions so that they reunite with their Digimon, I still prefer the Runaway Locomon resolution where all Digimon HAVE indeed been reunited with their human friends and can live in the real world : maybe Henry/Jian's father, between ep 51 and this movie, used a protective program to protect the Digimon from the Juggernaut program, allowing the Digimon to live safely in the real world without being destroyed and turned into data, i.e. the way the D-Reaper was defeated in ep 51.

I demanded the death of Henrys dad when I saw the final 5 mins of the show, it was all his fault in the end. But this is beautiful, makes me believe there was a chance that they were all reunited in the end <3

Honestly, I prefer the Runaway Locomon movie to the CD drama (Chiaki himself even mentioned that although he wasn't consulted for the makingΒ of that movie, he still resected it), but I will say that this is really cool. I also like how Suzie and the twins look now that they're older. This is really neat.
