Description
Mapplethorpe, Robert 1946–1989American artist whose single-image black-and-white photographs often depict flowers, the human nude, and male homoeroticism.
More about Mapplethorpe
After G.P. Lynes, Mapplethorpe is my favorite male nude photographer.
My favorite nude work of his is Man in polyester suit 1980.
An idea to try to copy his wors followed me for some time. In 2005 I had an agenda with his flower works. (In 2006 I've got a National Geographic Wildlife agenda)
This photo is a tribute to his flower-work.

That is very beautiful contrast, the zesty, vivid orange against darkness.

wow.... beautiful focus and an awesome secondary subject.... with vermillion!
excellent tribute..... although his flora shots were VERY good, I prefer some of his other work, particularly his studies of Patti Smith.

The best part was discovering his work for the first time in a Borders....
I was randomly pulling books.....
Then I pulled a Mappelthorpe collection.... And the little old lady looking over my shoulder for National Audubon Soc. books gasped in horror. It was pure money....
Oh, and vermillion is such an under-appreciated color.... same with cerulean.... although I'm very partial to umber.

Kao sto rekoh, stil se formira iako je motiv za ovu fotku nesto sasvim drugo nego za onu gdje trazis krov. Vidi se da je isti autor.
