Heartstrings sat quietly in her office, quill jotting back and forth along her parchment. Gentle music played from the record player in the corner of the room, the unicorn humming along. She was in her own little world, and was only brought out of it by the sound of a knock at her door.

"Come in..~" Heartstrings called out.

A pink maned pony waltzed in with an eye patch in the shape of a heart over her right eye. It was Heartstrings friend and colleague, Kewpid.

"Heart, have you heard the news about the Moonlight Guard strolling the streets of our city?"
Heartstrings looked confused. "Moonlight Guard..? What are they doing here, and in the middle of the afternoon?"
Kewpid snickered. "They aren't restricted to the time of day. It's just their name. Apparently they're searching for somepony. " she smiled, plopping down in the seat in front of Heartstrings desk.
"Searching? Well I hope they find whomever it is they are looking for," Heartstrings replied, her horn igniting with magic as she poured tea for herself and Kewpid.
"Well I think they're searching for King Tyrant's new bride. Very fairytale like, if you ask me!" Kewpid accepted the cup of tea, bringing it up to her lips and sipping loudly.
"King Tyrant's new bride? Oh I highly doubt he'd look for someone so randomly."
"And why not? He's royalty, and is now reigning over his own subjects in his own kingdom. He's also handsome, and that daughter of his is absolutely adorable." Kewpid ranted, her wing feathers getting ruffled.
Heartstrings smiled. "For someone so excellent at being a love counselor, you sure are quick to snatch up a rich stallion."
Kewpid shrugged and smiled shyly, and was going to respond, until a cream colored pony bolted in through the door.

"M-Miss Heartstrings!!" She screamed, running towards the desk and nearly toppling everything over in her wake.
Heartstrings closed her eyes and sighed gently. "We talked about you knocking, Cream Puff.."
"Y-Yes I know that, but the Moonlight Guard are in the waiting room at this very moment! They wish to speak with you!"
Kewpid's eyes grew wide and she turned her head, staring at the shocked unicorn. "Cream Puff, go ask what their business is with Heartstrings."

The excited pony nodded and bounded out, and the two remaining ponies crept towards the door, listening quietly as they heard the gruff, unintelligible voices of the guard.

"What are they saying??" Kewpid hissed quietly.
"I don't kno-" Heartstrings began, before the door opened and push the two mares backwards.
"The Moonlight Guard is summoning you, Heartstrings!" Cream Puff beamed, and then added, "by order of King Tyrant!"
