Description
"Kaden almost broke his arm hover-booting right over there...we had some good times!" -- Alister Azimuth reflecting on his fuzzy adorable injury-laden childhood with Ratchet's fatherWhat is it about males that makes them attach special nostalgia to grave injuries or near-injuries? BUT SERIOUSLY I LOVE HIM/THIS/ALL OF IT SO MUCH AHHHH. I am very proud of that Lumos mine-shaft. Yep. Take a gooooood long look at it.

The first thing that comes to mind:
Alister: Kaden...?
Kaden: Don't tell dad...and by the way...ow.
Adorable and kind of reminds me of all the times I wound up in the emergency room as a kid. XD

I'm gonna ditto what everyone else is saying and thinking and say that you should definitely make a children's book like this. My kids would read nothing else!

Aww this is so cute. I'm not surprised though after seeing your last picture of Alister and Ratchet in an alternate reality if Alister stayed with Ratchet during his youth.
This is the first time I saw someone draw out a scene from Alister's memory. This really came out nice and the Luminos Cave came out superb, definitely reminds me of the place (even though the Tetrimites scared the hell out of me at first xD). I like the way you drew young Alister and young Kaden as well, they look cute haha.
Really nice picture.

awwww that is too cute. i dont really like alister all that much, but kaden seems like an awesome character, even though all we know of him is from alisters stories and pocket watch. this is awesome, well done! poor kaden, looks like that hurt.

Aagreed, why does males only remember things from their childhood when they or someone else got hurt? though, I'm not better, mostly remember those kind of things too and I'm a girl xD
but anyhow, I love the picture!! it's sooo pretty, and the style you have is rly awesome 8D the colors are amazingly done with both shadows and lights, and the expression of little Alister is too cute to be true!!
he looks so srs shocked but still... so childish xD love it anyhow Cx

It's such a touching scene: to see little innocent Alister looking in on his poor friend Kaden just lying there with a busted arm.
Tho' if I may ask: is that marking under alister's chin a stripe or his goatee?
I love the overall rendering. It looks like it came straight from a book or a flash animated cut-scene. It would be so cool to see it in its entirety. Nicely done. ;-D

Thank you so much! I like to think Alister wouldn't laugh -- probably berate him for being stupid and then drag him back to the settlement so they could laugh about it later? But thank you so much for the sweet comment!
Well, dude has his bold goatee stripe when he's older, so I figured he'd have the same markings as a kid :] Just... less badass. (AND OH MAN Sly Cooper style animated flash scenes!? Waaaaaant. *pawpawpaw*)

I played the first four games in this series, up to Ratchet: Deadlocked (also Size Matters, but I'm pretending that doesn't exist) but haven't been able to play any of the more recent games. So...no idea what's going on or where this is from, BUT, it makes me smile nonetheless.
Is that a purple tentacle off to the left?

Baw, well, smiles are awesome :] Thanks so much! I never got to play Size Matters, but I suspect it is NEVER mentioned in fanarts or threads for a reason XP
The purple thing is a plant! A PLAAAAANT! ... A plant that is admittedly connected to a whorl of doorway-blocking, angry spiky tentacles of the same color and consistency, but we'll think no more on that...

OMG you did another one!
Good thing I visited your gallery then xD but this is just so cool. You know, I was wondering why no fans had drawn a little scene based on that quote from Azi XD (well at least I dont think so?) but this is real neat. Looks just like a scene from a cartoon styled flashback of the two, and Kaden as a kid here looks so cuddly! (despite being injured here; poor little bugger!) young Alister's expression is perfect too, with the spooked reaction here in the mines. Gee, makes me wanna play CiT again.... will have to do once I'm settled overseas
Awesome job, once again

Dunno, I'm female and I'd point out/remember a place when I hurt myself (or narrowly escaped injury).
Of course, I'm only nominally female, so...

It's funny how you didn't read the last artist's note closely enough to see the name of the game franchise you dismissively asked after, and yet read this one enough to respond to a meaningless hypothetical question...
-- and all along, nothing about the art. Your comments must be highly appreciated on a site built around artists and their work! (Would you still like a response to the statement about yourself? Because I tend to remember places where I was hurt, too! Wow.)

Actually, yes.
I've mistaken you for someone who has made disrespectful comments on much of my fiction and for whom I'd been sneakily, sneakily biding time until I could snap back at him/her with the most accomplished of ninja spite. I sincerely apologize for that behavior, but it still stands that if you took the time to type in and submit a disinterested question about a game franchise, you could have glanced once more at the A/N or realized that google is your friend.
I also apologize for the fact that all of what I mentioned is a life-long "internet behavior" pet-peeve of mine and so you should feel free to ignore the finger-waggling that will follow -- but probably shouldn't.
Sitting in other's virtual galleries and talking about yourself isn't the best way to Make Friends and Impress People. It implies -- or openly states -- that you are failing to even acknowledge the hard work any artist has put into any given piece. As an artist yourself, I hope you know that this isn't a mail-order form for sycophantic comments or fandom-specific appreciation rants (many are under the assumption that no one can admire any piece of fan-art that isn't from a known fandom, which is ridiculously false, but still begs the question why they take the time to comment at all), but just asking that everyone remember the reason people post art. Feedback and criticism, or just wanting to make the general fandom populace happy.
If you don't have feedback/criticism or a piece doesn't inspire you, the general course of action is smiling/frowning/sighing/thinking about how hungry you are and nodding and clicking the X button... not using whatever context available to further discuss Yourself and You. When when combined with +Favoriting (which many ignore as a status symbol), that's just a click of a button combined with Hey I Know You Drew/Wrote That Thing Over There But How Cool Am I. I consider it basic courtesy, though I'm sure most artists ignore others who make a practice of this and don't quietly seethe over the implied arrogance in it. Consider this my social Achilles' heel, though I only have an outburst every four years or so.
So, ma'am, after that nigh-useless rant (about myself no less, ohohoho the irony), I do honestly and earnestly apologize for the acidity of my previous comment. The anger was not directed at you and I made a dicky bitch/bitchy dick of myself. Getting my panties in a bundle is not a wise course of action at 2am after staring at a Photoshop interface for five hours straight. There goes the myth that art is therapeutic...?

Ahaha!! AWWWWW, is it sad that I would pay so much money for a children's book of this?
Suddenly, Alister heard a crash in the dark. It sounded like Kaden! He used his hover-boots and flew over the pile of rocks and there was his best friend, laying on the ground with his tail in the air!
Thank you so much, I paid so much special attention to their fur, so teheeeee <3 Thank you!

And the attention shows in this and the last piece, it really is a darling style and I'm loving it always like to see some variance in the people I follow!
