... Must Die."I´ve always thought that Rigaldo is the coolest of all the male Claymores (which aren´t many anyways)... and that Miria is the best of the leaders in the Claymore world.
So here they are! in their moment of encounter..!! well, sort of.
A quickie. Hope you like it!!
-----

Very nice sketch; I've always contemplated whether these two had had any previous contact considering the way Miria's reaction was when he finally showed himself the way he did. As if she knew he raw potential, what he was capable of, despite him being "unknown," and I think your image sort of just propels my curiosity that much more. Great work!

Oh wow, so you've barely gotten past chapter 81? (The one where Raki and Priscilla meet the Claymore, Renee) You've still got a looong way to go! Some things get better and more interesting, others get boring, or brushed aside (like Miria, pfft) I don't know if this will help, but if you don't mind reading the manga online, here is a link where its currently still viewable (as most other sites have taken it down due to issues with VIZ media) This is the start of chapter 82: [link]
Sorry if I spoiled anything XD but maybe with the link you'll be up to speed in no time! Some things really do liven up, and certain characters get more development (like Yuma, who is quickly rising on my favorites list!) while other plot holes open up, enough to be taken advantage of, at any rate. So, good luck and I hope you enjoy the rest of the Claymore adventure! (Anything else you may be curious about, feel free to give a shout out!) Talk to ya later!

I tend to agree with Deneve when she says that part of Clare's power comes from her temper, as she always seems to tip the scales in her favor when she's mad enough, so its justifiable to say that she certainly is a force to reckon with. Personally, Clare tends to be one of my least favorites of the series, as I feel she lacks a certain quality that the others have. (Though don't get me wrong, she's total kick-ass when she wants to be, but she's more prone to childish outbursts too.) Then again, I've noticed I have been rooting more and more for the Claymore "underdogs" instead.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the rest of the manga, and wow, you read through them quickly! The end of things definitely introduces more plot twists, that's for sure. And hey! I'm the same; I enjoy discussing theories and such with others who share a mutual fondness for Claymore. Though I tend to bring up more theories involved with my story plots than anything, its still interesting to talk about, and hear what other people think as well. I think it really brings diversity to the table to see what others have to say too: it really makes me stop and think and apply those thoughts and opinions to my own, see whats different, and what's the same, or where I can wheedle I good story in. (LOL) Well, as promised, here is the link for chapter 104! Enjoy! And I sincerely do hope to be able to discuss this series with you more, in depth. [link]

Yay!! thank you!!
Too bad you don´t like Claire, because she´s my fav. Maybe because I have some outburst as she does, although I think she´s not strong for those outbursts, rather on the contrary, she gets mad and she looses. She´s strong though, for her heart. The moment she gets an idea on her head, nothing will stop her.
Oh! and I have a suggestion! what do you think if we create a one-shot for this Rigaldo-Miria encounter? how does that sound?

JL-Dexter In reply to denebtenoh [2010-07-14 05:59:48 +0000 UTC]
She does have her power tendencies, yes.
Heh, a one-shot (story) dealing with Rigaldo-Miria is exactly what I had in mind. But its trying to work around Rigaldo being in Miria's company the first time without her going all bad-ass Phantom on his tail before the story even gets rolling. ^^ But you read my mind!

The only Claymore story I have posted thus far, isn't Rigaldo/Miria centered, sadly. That plot bunny is currently on layaway still at the Plot-Bunny Ranch. But so far I've considered their meeting to be while Miria is still a newly ranked warrior learning her way around her missions (maybe in her 17th ranking..?) but my problem is still her remaining "docile" enough to over-look or just not put two and two together that he's an Awakened Being, and I'm just not sure how to get around that yet. Maybe she'd let his survival slide if he's not the one being hunted by her, but I just don't know. How about you? Anything? This little adventure may be something I pick up not long after I get more of my first story written/finished and posted up, so there is plenty of time to dwell on the finer details.

Well... I was thinking on maybe they could get a bit more... intimate. Let´s say, something like Miria still too young, just a new soldier who meets Rigaldo right before he awakens, and something happens between them. And then they meet again later on, he already awakened. Maybe it was Miria´s first or second commission to finish up an awakened being, and it turns out to be him. But he kills her party and at the moment he´s about to kill her too, he forgives her life after all, and even maybe he could be the one to wake up Miria on what the organization is truly like. She doesn´t believe that until her friend is killed. So they meet up again at the north for the last time. What do you think?

JL-Dexter In reply to denebtenoh [2010-07-14 17:26:52 +0000 UTC]
I think something like that could possibly work, at least their potential meeting (but I would think given the generation Rigaldo is from, that Miria would be extremely young, and not even part of the Organization yet, yes?) Hmm, definitely something to think about, though the idea to have them meet later on while on a hunt and him forgiving her and sparing her as such is a little close to an already existing Rigaldo/Miria story I've seen on here, so it would need some slight tweaking, but I think the idea of him planting the seeds of doubt about the Organization in her mind before her incident with Hilda is an awesome thought!! Ooh, could be, he could meet her during her training, rather than her being a ranked field agent... perhaps in the beginning stages, before she's fully learned to master the basics of yoki perception? (I mean, if you think about it, its possible, right? Considering when Clare first met Riful she could only sense the pulsating rods and Dauf, but couldn't even sense Riful--who was suppressing her aura--until Galatea mentioned it and Clare truly focused on finding her.) So if Miria is young, still in training, she's likely to overlook someone suppressing their yoki like Rigaldo because she's barely begun to learn to control sensing. Mwuahahaha, I love being able to discuss these things, I always have better idea luck when I am, do you??

denebtenoh In reply to JL-Dexter [2010-07-15 01:46:50 +0000 UTC]
I agree too that it´s a lot better when you discuss an idea.
So here is mine:
I´m totally sure there must be a story about them meeting when he´s already awakened... because Miria´s face showed just too much knowgledge about how powerful he is, and of his moves, not to think they had already traded blows before. And since Rigaldo is that powerful, it´s easy to think that he must´ve forgiven her... or she was saved or able to escape in a way, wouldn´t you think?
And yeah! I agree with you of their meeting when she was an apprentice!! maybe he even showed her some movements... hey!! she could´ve had a crush on him right there, and then meeting again like that could´ve been a low blow for her!! wooow!!
I REALLY love doing this with you!! you´re good!!!

JL-Dexter In reply to denebtenoh [2010-07-15 02:23:03 +0000 UTC]
It definitely is; I have a really dear friend with whom lately, when we get online and talk, seems all we discuss anymore is Claymore (my ideas, her theories, etc.) I enjoy such talks like these because in my over-active imaginative state, I may tend to overlook an important factor or plot hole, and having her (and now yourself) to "debate" this series with helps reign in my mind.
I'd have to bet my money more on a type of "saved in the nick of time" actually; a rescue not intended, but more of a distraction that allowed her to slip away while Riglado was possibly turning his attention onto the "interruption." Woot for the potential Rigaldo/Miria love! (rofl) For a villian, he's a hottie. Here is the story of which I spoke of earlier: it starts out much like our ideas, of them meeting during one of Miria's hunts, and Rigaldo spares her life.

Chapter Two: [link]

Umh... I dunno... I can´t see Miria as the type who would run knowing tha someone else is giving her life to save her. Let´s say... if there´s another Claymore that distracted him so that they could run, then she would´ve stayed with that Claymore even if it meant givin her life too. Then again, the distraction could be an old enemy of Rigaldo´s... well THAT´s a whole different story.
Thank you for the links!!

JL-Dexter In reply to denebtenoh [2010-07-16 03:28:05 +0000 UTC]
It would definitely have to be some"thing" other than another Claymore. Which a thought just registered in my mind. Working around the time gap, the encounter can always be done during that period where Rigaldo encounters Priscilla that first time. That should be a general amount of time to position Miria as new trainee/warrior, offer a plausible reason why he was out and about to begin with, plus Priscilla would provide that "distraction" that could and would surely draw Rigaldo's attention long enough for Miria to escape. If it was another Claymore, it could also provide that chance meeting between Miria and Hilda, especially if it was Hilda and a team who happened upon Miria and Rigaldo. Again, just mere thoughts...

There are always loop holes to get around things, and for those can't be explained, well, I suppose that's where the term "fan-fiction" can really come handy! (Though I generally hate operating under too many un-explainable ideas and scenarios. lol) This talk has been good, as Miria has quickly grown to be the only warrior with whom I've developed so many theories for.

Absolutely! Toss a little Rafaela, or some Clare in the mix, along with some of the other little underlings, shake it up real good (shaken, not stirred, rofl) and Viola! A nice little blend of a fantastic Claymore cocktail is sure to abound! Currently my fascination has leveled with Rafaela (and her exiled encounter with Teresa) and closely followed by Miria.

Oh yeah!! they seemed to give too much importance to Rafaela´s and Teresa´s meeting. As if they got linked in some way... I wonder why...
And what do you mean with Miria? did she know these two had met up?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JL-Dexter In reply to denebtenoh [2010-07-20 11:53:22 +0000 UTC]
I found Rafaela's interest (and surprise) upon meeting Teresa and the discovery of how she traveled so far to get to that area where she met the older warrior to be rather intriguing, really. Not to mention, how much "power" Teresa must have had even at that tender young age to even catch the briefest flickering of Rafaela's yoki considering that Rafaela was fully suppressing it. (since she was supposed to act as a "corpse" and go about pretending not to exist, plus she had had a lot longer to practice and master yoki suppression) So the current story I have up now that I am working on finishing, involves their chance encounter, and then some, as seen behind curiosity and obsession! (rofl) As for Miria, I only meant that she, as a character, is closely in line as a favorite for my story plots, right behind the current plot of Rafaela and Teresa. Sorry, that did sound a bit confusing, huh?! I am hoping to eventually tie in my Rafaela/Teresa story to my main story line, if I ever get it started, woot, so we will see!
