Description
Actually I was working on another image and played with mappings. While trying different merge modes I tripped over an interesting color effect. For it I should note that every layer is made with the same two-point-gradient, white and red brown. The color effect is a product of the 'Difference' merge mode, which can produce very nice colors but is hard to handle in my opinion. I'm not quiet happy with the center (in addition I lost some details during rendering) but couldn't find a effect which was halfway suitable.Created with Ultra-Fractal, no postwork except subtle color enhancement.
FULL VIEW IS MUCH BETTER!
Edit: I changed the center - I'm still not really satisfied but I like it better in this way.

Superb light and detail..and lovely colors. Perhaps cropping it would help your misgivings about the center? Beautiful!

At first look I also thought the center is a bit of a weakness, but I literally gasped as I panned the image! This is a breathtaking and beautiful artwork... an outstanding looking piece
The overall beauty makes up for the weak center. I'm not sure what to suggest about it as I only dabble in fractals, but I'm sure you will come up with a great idea soon.
Very beautiful

Brilliant! I'm loving this one.
The center section looks as if it is a glowing light rather than a solid shape and it seems to have a nice smooth transition to the patterns around it. The whole image flows well and brings across a perticualr feel.
Oh and you should get used to me going in depth like that I do it a lot

Oops, it's Stacey! But I can understand the confusion, with there being a Tracey who is also a fractal artist. LOL
You're welcome, I really love your work. I remember when you first got started, and I think you've come a long way. Your art is beautiful, Denise. I am green with envy!

....uuhh but it was very very close, Stacey.
Thanks a lot for your warm words, it's very interesting to hear an opinion from someone who wasn't present here for a long time.
I also remember very well when we started last year, it was a long way for sure, sometimes it was more work than fun and a time with many sleepless nights....lol...but the fun is what keeps me working with UF.

I wish I had stuck with UF as long as you did, because if I had maybe I could produce lovely images like you!
I'm starting over with the class in March, and this time I'm not going to let anything stop me from finishing it.

Beautiful work, Denise! I like the way the spiral appears to be emerging from the background and then also overlays the outer frame. That emerging creates a very nice 3D effect which looks wonderful! I like difference mode and use it sometimes, but I change the colors while it's in that mode and try to make it less apparent. I love the colors you got using it.

Thanks for these great description of the allover effect, I even couldn't describe it better in my language. These emerging is also a product of the same 'Difference' layer; the effect was a surprise but looked very interesting. Btw, thanks for the - for me - new word 'emerging'. In the first moment I was astonished but after study my dicitionary I understand the common root with 'emergency'.
Thanks for your lovely words and the fav.

Already mentioned is the web of colour; variety is subtle, symmetry is sublime; this seems to wrap in on itself then blossom back out. There is NOTHING displeasing here.
