Actually I was working on another image and played with mappings. While trying different merge modes I tripped over an interesting color effect. For it I should note that every layer is made with the same two-point-gradient, white and red brown. The color effect is a product of the 'Difference' merge mode, which can produce very nice colors but is hard to handle in my opinion. I'm not quiet happy with the center (in addition I lost some details during rendering) but couldn't find a effect which was halfway suitable.Created with Ultra-Fractal, no postwork except subtle color enhancement.
FULL VIEW IS MUCH BETTER!
Edit: I changed the center - I'm still not really satisfied but I like it better in this way.

This is beautiful, Denise. I agree that the center does'nt seem quite finished but the overall image with it's interesting color changes is very nice. I've lost some detail in rendering too.

Sometimes I stick to an idea and try to realize it and even if I'm not able to do it in a satisfied way I'm not able to get rid of these idea....lol...and then it looks so unfinished. I hope some day I'll try to change the center...

You're very welcome. I wish I could offer a suggestion as to what might "complete" the center but if you do go back and re-work it, I'm sure you will come up with something wonderful. Did you use UF for the frame?

Yes, it's all done with UF. Are you in Janets Masking class? You'll learn some very nice techniques to frame an image with UF.

No, I wasn't able to take it this time and now the March class is full so I'm hoping to take it in May. I know there are some ucl's for framing but I've never really worked with them and add my frames in another program I have but I look forward to learning how to do it with UF.

You'll love it and it's not a bad thing to have a break between the classes. I liked the classes very much but it was very exhausting for me to do the first and second in follow....maybe because all is in english and I tried to translate the stuff in same time. I still work today on the translation...

I really love this! Yes, Difference mode is difficult to work with, esp. when there's just one area of colour your want to change in a certain way, but it does give the most extraordinary effects, and you've achieved those well here!

I believe this is only the second time where I used the 'Difference' Mode to achieve a color effect. I like the effects but it's hard to evaluate how it'll look after it.

Very nice!. I love the color variations. Difference is one of my favorite merge modes and you're right it is a little tricky to work with but worth it when it comes out looking this beautiful.

Great fractal. And I really like how you did the frame, making it look as though it's coming the fractal is actually coming out of the image. Neat stuff.
