#2 micron and some Pitt brush pens.The mustek scanner isn't great for color and in hindsight I proabbly should have done an ink wash for the smokey bg.

I love this. The Question is my favorite comic book character of all time. I think the faded look works for him.

I can't find any comics of him, does he leave a question card like that, I see it in every drawing I find. (I'm a huge fan of the question, and I really want to know!)

DC has some trades out. Steve Ditko created him. He does leave the card behind.

I think your choice of using marker for the background smoke was justifiable. It gives the smoke more of a presence than an ink wash would. It's more of a piece with the figure (which suits the character given the importance of that particular smoke). That said, giving the smoke that much presence makes it much less... smoky -- less intangible. This issue could be solved by filling in some of the negative space (perhaps with a very light ink wash) to make the positive/negative contrast less stark.

Very, VERY nice. A lot of people(not me) find The Question to be plain in appearance because they get obsessed with flashy detail but you captured Question perfectly in my opinion. Mysterious, Intimidating and Phantom like. Just how he is supposed to be.
