Description
This is my entry for the ArtOrder/Muddy Colors challenge - Eowyn and the Nazgul from The Lord of the Rings. It's such a great scene in the book, so I really enjoyed illustrating it!I could have spent so much more time on this, but I was busy with work and stuff until short before the deadline Β°-Β°;
If I'm lucky and get critique from the judges, I might just work on it a little more

"Fool, no man can kill me..."
"I am no man."
One of the most epic movie lines ever. lol
This picture is equally epic...Actually, I take that back...It's probably even better, heheheh.
Awesome job!

That part of the movie always bothered me because the book makes it pretty clear that all Eowyn did was finish him off, when actually Merry's lovely little Barrows-blade did the heavy lifting...

OMG I know right?! Stuff like that really screwed it up, lol...did they leave out the part where both of their sword arms were in paint for days afterward....? I can't remember...

I don't remember it being explicitly stated in the movies. They kind of hinted at Eowyn being too injured to go attack the gates of Mordor though, since she was left behind with Faramir, but I don't remember exactly what happened with Merry. I also don't remember if any of this was in the theatrical cut, or if it was only the extended version.
Now that I think about it, in the movies the hobbits' swords weren't even from the Barrows, because they left out the entire Old Forest sequence, and of course Tom Bombadil. Such a shame, too, I would've loved to see how they portrayed all of that. Oh, and the Scouring of the Shire as well. I was disappointed when they killed Saruman so early, because I knew they would be leaving out one of my favorite chapters.

They even left out the romance scene between Faramir and Eowyn...That killed it for meeee >.> lol
I'm not sure about that either...I believe I only saw the extended version of the Two Towers...
Ohhh man....The Old Forest sequence was BEAST....Especially when Tom put on the Ring and didn't go invisible...Actually, the ring itself became invisible, lololol
That woulda been awesome in the movie...arrrrrgh.....
OMG yeah! WHYYY!?!? If they didn't kill off Saruman, they coulda put in the awesome parts! Like, the entire battle in the Shire was completely ommitted! It was just like, "Okay, the Ring is now a melted pool of lava, let's head home." They get home, and everything is all nice and peaceful and happy and tidy. NOT at all like in the book, where Saruman freaking trashed the place, lol...Not to mention that's also where Grima Wormtongue died. Ohhhh....the disappointment lol

Oh god yes, that part was awesome. Even more epic in the book if you ask me:
"Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!"
[...]
"But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Γowyn I am, Γomund's daughter. [...]"
Gotta love that Tolkien language
And thanks!

Haha I know right?
Tolkien speak for the win XD
Personally, I liked some parts of the books better, because it explained more and told you about tons of stuff that was never even remotely existent in the movies. Sometimes I wish Peter Jackson woulda made it longer, but...I guess he just didn't have the time/budget, lol. Oh well...Still epic

I guess the book is always better than the movie XD
But really, I think they did an awesome job in telling the story in another medium. Tolkien's writing style is very unique and probably wouldn't work too well if you used the book as a script. In the making of on the DVD the writers explain what they had to change and why and it really makes sense.

Exactly, lol...I wasn't worried so much about the character's lines as much as I was about completely changing the storyline...but yeah, they didn't really have a choice, especially with the medium they were working with heheheh...Never saw "The Making of" section, so I wouldn't know....Maybe they have it on Youtube, lol...

They probably won't have it on youtube - each DVD had a 'making of' just about the length of the movie. XD Really awesome stuff though! John Howe and Alan Lee working on the concept art, Weta Workshops special effects and all that. If you get a chance you should totally watch it

My question is how colors images? Could this not yours? In any case, how do you completely, you could write back?

I'm sorry, I think I don't relly understand what you are asking.
I used Adobe Photoshop CS4 and a Wacom Intuos4 tablet. First I sketch the image in black and white, then I start painting in color and just work on it until it's finished

This is an awesome piece, i love the way you used the colors, however some part of the helmet is missing, but Eowyn looks more pretty than the one in the movie, go through my gallery too!

Huh? What helmet? If you're talking about the Nazgul - the movie's design wasn't true to the book there. He has no helmet, just a crown.
