Description
This is my entry for the ArtOrder/Muddy Colors challenge - Eowyn and the Nazgul from The Lord of the Rings. It's such a great scene in the book, so I really enjoyed illustrating it!I could have spent so much more time on this, but I was busy with work and stuff until short before the deadline °-°;
If I'm lucky and get critique from the judges, I might just work on it a little more

This is very cool, I like the smokey effect on the wings and sky - that was a great scene in the book and movie.
care to share the type or setting of brushes used here?

For the smoky stuff on the wings I drew some more or less randomly scattered dots on another layer, then used the smudge tool. Just sort of a swishy motion in the direction you want. No special brushes

I'd say the experiment was a success - it doesn't have to be a fancy technique just an effective one.
