Description
This is my entry for the ArtOrder/Muddy Colors challenge - Eowyn and the Nazgul from The Lord of the Rings. It's such a great scene in the book, so I really enjoyed illustrating it!I could have spent so much more time on this, but I was busy with work and stuff until short before the deadline °-°;
If I'm lucky and get critique from the judges, I might just work on it a little more

That is how he is described in the book - only a pair of floating eyes and a crown. Ni helmet like in the movie

I've always loved Wynne - and Peter Jackson's movies didn't do her justice, in my opinion.
So I'm happy to see her get some love <3

I meant Eowyn, of course -_____-
all fantasy fiction and no play makes Sonomi a dull girl.

Great job on drawing Eowyn, she really stands out. But the dragon looks a bit dull, it's head is fine but the body's not really doing anything. Maybe a different position? Or then that I love this picture.

Fabulous ! You drew him as he appears in the book, and not the movies !

He's just so much freakier in the book, they screwed up most of that scene in the movies :c

Since everything else in this picture is awesome, I'll have ot say my favorite tiny detail is that the Witch King has no head, just eyes and a floating crown, it's like more sinister. I love it.

Thank you! That's actually how he is described in the book - I can't really take credit for that ^^

Haha, well, considering the last time I tried to read the trilogy I was probably still a little young to get through it, I wouldn't remember, but anyway, great job bringing words to life then!

First of all, great work. Gorgeous, stunning.
Only complaint (if I have a right to complain) is the Nazgul's head. Yeah, I get that he just had a crown, but it looks... awkward? I don't know. Sometimes book imagery and the real thing don't always look good. I might suggest something, anything, to imply his face, head, something... a shadowy ghostly smoke trail, you know?
Otherwise, it's sheer brilliance.

Ah yes, you are probably right. I was actually planning something like that in the beginning, but then I ran out of time and forgot DX But thanks for reminding me! I'll take it into account when I revise this

Such an exquisitely illustrated and wonderfully-well rendered rendition of the classic scene and beast (which I'm really digging with its more reptilian look). It ranks right up there with the greats like Alan Lee and John Howe as one of the best, if not the best Lord of the Rings illustration ever made!
