Description
The light of day drains from the sky,

Trickling in channels to the earth.

Clouds curl amongst it,

Like wrinkles etched to its skin.

Coiled to the rope of time, the sun sinks on cue,

Lower and lower it goes..

The air is still. Quiet and cool.

A fire of colour erupts, shimmering and scattering the air,

across the horizon like a candle brought to life,

the sky explodes with vibrant colour, that a-blazes golden light.

Bursting at the seams, the sky is filled, it fills,

with the essence of the day departing.

Farwell my day, farewell.
