Morrigan: *sigh* These idiots can't wat TWO seconds for me to move out of the way before trampling me flat.When you throw a party, make sure your guests aren't too overeager!
At least Morrigan will make a fancy staircase rug for the party guests until the night is over.

This has to be my most difficult piece to date. Getting the illusion of a staircase style flattening in XNA wasn't easy. It took a lot of models and Photoshop work, but it's always fun trying something new!

And I'm trying. I have a few more ideas coming but I'm not sure if they're as creative as this. Idk how you manage to just keep going up. I feel like when I put something out particularly unique, I can't always top it for a good while >.<

Well, that's not really true I don't think. There are some chapters where I'll think "wow, I really fucked that one," or "this part definitely could have been better." But as I keep saying, we are our own worst critics ^^

It was kinda complicated, but yeah that's the basics of what I did. Many models and Photoshop. There are a bunch of uncannily distorted Morrigan models underneath that staircase lol.
So let's just take the head and torso for example. I just stretched the head out waaaaayyyyy far away from the body, flattened the head, and hid the rest of the body under the staircase. Then for the torso, I scaled the legs and head pretty much out of existence, flattened it, and put it right under the head.
Each body part was different, but those are basically the things I did to create this effect. And after I took a picture of the image, I smoothed it out in Photoshop.

Not at all! That's actually really interesting! Do you have the scene saved still? I think it would be interesting to see what all those models look like underneath, like, what we're not supposed to see? ^^
