Description
NOTEIf you wish to use Weaver Rusalka in any capacity (artwork, story, mission arc, ect), please contact me regarding permission before proceeding. This includes gift art and the like. While I'm flattered that you might wish to use my character in your work, I prefer to have some idea of what she might be doing and the way she's presented. So please contact me first. Thanks.
Costume Notes
Note the little bit of skin showing through the sleeves on the elbows is a game clipping issue and shouldn't be there.
Face References
Though Ru's parents are both Russian and Indian, Ru herself inherited most of her physical features from the Indian side of her family. Nikita Anand is fairly close to how I imagine her appearance: [link] [link] [link]

Bio
Ru's father was an exceptionally talented traveling magician from Russia who married an Indian woman after falling for her during his extensive travels. He was a very kind man, always quick to try and cheer those around him and lend a helping hand where he could. Through the years, he and Ru grew very close while traveling the world as a family, performing wherever they went. She looked up to her father and would often watch him from the side of the stage. Eventually when she became old enough she joined his shows as his assistant. Over the years, she began to suspect that some of his tricks were more than just sleight of hand, but she never brought it up. Her childhood was as good as any could hope for, filled with family, love and laughter.
He took ill suddenly when she was 19 and on his deathbed revealed to her his secret: Her suspicions were correct and that he was able to use real magic. Furthermore, he had determined that she, too, had the ability to do so. In what little time he had left he began passing his knowledge on to her, teaching her about the flows of magical energy that move invisibly through the air and how to weave them into spells. He passed away before she was able to complete her studies however, leaving her only a large, heavy book with his completed notes to go on.
Ru was devastated. Subconsiously she lashed out with the knowledge he had taught her, barely aware of what she was doing and unable to control the powerful flows of energy. She was snapped back into reality after a wayward spell seriously injured her mother. Afraid of further harming those she cared for most, she fled her family. She spent the next roughly 5 years wandering across europe, leading a nomadic life. She never stayed in one spot for long, but she picked up what little knowledge of magic she could find with no real plan or even an idea of what she would be doing next. Even lessened by time, the grief of her father's death remained like a painful open wound to her, and the memory of nearly killing her mother remained fresh. She existed in a state of near depression, floating from place to place.
Her skills slowly improved, but the emotional turmoil caused by the memories of her father whenever she weaved a spell tended to break her concentration and more often than not she continually lost control of whatever limited spell she tried. Still, she continued learning, not wishing her father's final gift to her to go unused.
Eventually, her wanderings took her to America where a chance meeting with Bayani set off a series of events that would lead her off of her self destructive path. She realized that it's past time for greiving and that her father, who dedicated his life to making other peoples lives better would have wanted her to do the same. She dedicated her life to charity work, Bayani giving her a position at Paragon's Own as the expert consultant on all things arcane for Division 401. Additionally, she now uses her abilities to fight against evil, trying to make the world a better place for all.
Still though, she never forgot the price of losing control and to this day she remains somewhat distant from others. She's a mysterious figure to all but a small circle of close friends to whom she's able to open up and let some of the cheerful girl from the past show through.
