Description
This photo was taken just off of Dallas Rd, Victoria BC. It was a very calm evening though there were still enough waves to create a foggy effect on a time exposure shot. I love how the rocks near the water look glossy and progressively less so towards the sky. The sky was such a beautiful orange that evening it provided the perfect backdrop for this small cove. Hope you enjoy.Related content

Awesome shot. I like the shorter exposure for this style of shot, gives it a much more metalic feel with the rocks rather than that "latte foam" look a lot of ocean shots get. Which looks great in itself but I like this spin on it. I actually know where you are in a lot of your photos, I used to live in Victoria. Its probably one of the best cities I've been too. I have found that the island has seem to have gotten significantly more crowded in the last ten years. Wonderful shot.

Thanks! And yes it has slowly been transforming into just another city, though it still is much slower moving and relaxed than a normal city and thats quite the treat.

It is nice on that front. The town I live in now is horrible for the fast paced mentality. Everyone in a rush to do nothing and hurry up to wait. I still like visiting the Island but I don't think I could live there again. Its just too awesome to be able to walk five minutes out of the edge of town and be surrounded by nature.

Whereabouts do you live now? And ya being able to leave the city so easily can be quite a distraction.

I live in Fort St. John, which is suppose to be the second most northern city in BC (with like 25 000 people) Its got a really nice landscape once you get past the cold, it normally gets to -40 C every year for a couple weeks. Living here has shown me a lot about nature and I really like it. There aren't too many place in the world where you wake up to moose feeding in your front yard. There isn't much for water though, most of the surrounding rivers are brown.

Wow that's quite a ways up there, did the cold come as somewhat of a shock after living in victoria for a while? And I bet its nice up there, I have been trying to plan a road trip to alaska and back, but I realized I need alot more time off than I have to do that

The silvers of the rocks and tobacco sky is just brilliant, any cracks just adds to the contrast what an awesome piece of work, 10/10!

Wow, I actually don't know what to say! I love the orange line trailing across the sky, and the composition is beautiful. I love the rocks, and again, the water is just magical
