Description
This is a new project that I'm working on with my good friend and writer Jim Deley. It's an illustrated novel gear towards young adults and above. I'm exploring a new style with this project and having a lot of fun drawing it!Hope you guys dig it!

Great appeal to the designs. I like the ball point pen feel to the line work too. Makes it feel a just a little like a kids doodle on loose leaf paper.

Very nice. Question I've always wondered about, when is it a really good idea to not use variable line weight like this? Even with the ogre more or less blending with the background, everything reads well, and there's no line variety. I realize it's a style thing, but I don't really understand when it does and doesn't work.

Good question but I'm not sure if I have an answer for you. Really I think it purely comes down to the style you are going after. Usually line weight adds more life to the characters but in this case I wanted a more subtle look. I think it's just something you have to feel out as an artist.

lose the blank space between the handle and the blade, it won't read as "Maximog" so much
