Paper Mario/Mario Story sprites for a redesign of Longator and Longadile, stretchy neck alien reptiles from Super Paper Mario.

Citizens of Planet Blobule, Longators move to and fro upon their rocky home. Whenver they feel threatened or just feel like it in general, they stretch their necks out to slowly keep their attackers away. They seem pretty harmless, in all honesty, so it's up to any planetary explorers or locals if they want to go a round or not.
Within Castle Bleck, meanwhile, Longadiles lurk. They're just like their outer space counterparts, but stronger- and red. Did Count Bleck breed this variant, or someone else in his troupe? Well, as Longadiles also lurk in Flipside's Pit of 100 Trials and there's sayings that go "crocodile tears" as well as "never smile at a crocodile", one other possible breeding candidate comes to mind.

Longator and Longadile have not been referenced in any other Mario game, be it by further appearances in Paper Mario, Smash Bros collectibles, or otherwise. Their fandom presence is also small...but not unnoticeable, as on Twitter, there's one humanoid female Longator character created by the artist DeadMii AKA Twygz.

For this redesign, on top of rounding out the two species, I decided to actually make them look more like crocodiles, while also being alien-like in that concept. As an indirect nod to the above artist and their character (though I guess it's not indirect, since I'm bringing it up at all), I also made female variants of both.
