I am REALLY liking this new style of yours, Derek -- leaving the underlying gesture sketches visible. Adds a whole new kind of life to the painting that is almost the polar opposite, conceptually speaking, of your older work.
Then again I REALLY liked your old style too.

Hm, I meant ones like "Painting 13" and "Figure with Hands Together".
The kind of fluid motion in your brush strokes made the figures seem exceptionally free and ethereal and yet now, even though you retain the same line qualities and brush strokes, that bold outline really "limits" the kind of reach of the figures, if you see what I mean. It's almost as if they're caged within the confines of these delicate gesture marks.
