Description
Alien concept for my book "The Travelers". These creatures communicate using the "gas bags" on their sides which send out radio waves. They have four eyes, six legs, and the "hair" on their body is actually cilia that collect nutrients from their surroundings.I wanted to make a unique intelligent species that looked nothing like a human. Granted it does have arms, legs, and eyes, the similarities stop there.

Wow, interesting design. Kinda looks like one of my aliens, they also have radial symmetry, but instead are silicon-based and feed on intense radiation.

I'll be posting a skeletal view of these guys here in a bit, but I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how these guys interact.
Eventually, I'd like to come up with an entire back-history for them, how they've advanced, what structures they build, etc...

Very interesting. Cillia tend to be very fragile due to the high surface area required; even rubbing it could cause it to shed off. Because of this, I'd imagine these guys to avoid touching each other, so they'd find casual physical intimacy such as human handshaking to be very disturbing.

Love the design of the alien. Pairing something that different looking with intelligence always does interesting things to the human mind when confronted with it.

O_O it reminds me of a daddy long legs, or a muppet daddy long legs. Still it's quite unsettling to look at in a good way.
