Sculpey wire and foil.I had this idea brewing in my head over the last few days, that the imfamous spring heeled jack, creature of legend of the 1800's london.

Is the wikipedia info if you don't know it, anyway I envisioned thing being wasn't the humanoid of discription and more ethereal, demonic and well perhaps alien. I can't think for the life of me how to paint it though (colours scheme), so any ideas are welcome.

That's awesome. I'm so in awe of people who can handle 3-D. I so sucked in pottery class.

This is quite an offshoot from your usual style. I mean this in a good way. Since my shitty dial up loaded the picture LONG after I was able to read the commentary several times, I was expecting something completely different. I know nothing, neither of British Mythology nor of Chinese Mythology, but it almost looks like some kind of Chinese demon of sorts. Quite a harsh, yet pleasent surprise!

I was aiming for a totaly different take, but there is more then its fair share of chinese infuence in its design, glad you noticed, I tryed to keep the elements of the original jack, the horns, the bounding legs and the cape, thanks andrew, I glad you picked up on this one!

Half of artistic beauty is left with the different intepretations between the artist and the viewer, isnt' it!

He looks a real scarey conception Fred.. I can imagine him in a a dark misty grey/black with white and red thin strands of colour.. I read the wikpedia article too your redesign of him brings him into the 20th century really well

Very interesting piece man...what about painting in a variety of greys and some black accents with just a very few traces of, perhaps red here and there to imply blood or even fire and the notion of the infernal?

I like your version better. Way scarier for sure. Even your description sounds like a good horror movie. Hey - next time try using colored Sculpey on certain parts so you don't have to paint it at all.

I know the SpringHeel Jack tale also which of course based on our of londons most notorious and unsolved serial killers and I must say that what you have there is a pretty good vision of him. i may have done a more Red and Black but the red alone works. good job.
