Well yeah, it takes place in modern day! Just with monsters living in areas where humans don't often travel or hiding in society!

What happened was that when I was drawing Tori's design I showed a WIP to and he said her hair looked to much like how he wanted Erika's to be. So I was thinking for awhile and figured that because she's a harpy, a hairstyle that looks like a bird's crest would work! So I drew her silly hair and loved it!

Tori's first drawing date came before Space Dandy's air date

and I'm not caught up with Dandy I'm behind a shitload of episodes. 


The hair redesign was 's idea.

aight. i just saw her hair and was like god that looks a bit like space dandy's....and i understand how it feels to be behind a ton of Eps on anime....

if at the time of Tori's hair redesign I was probably thinking more of Josuke Higashikata or Groose as far as the hair goes when I first saw it, but I see the dandy resemblance.
