I like the concept. However, the hawk is pretty dumb-looking (well, you can't help that), and the shadings oppose the background. You should apply an inner shadow with multiply blending or linear burn blending, or something like that, and liven it up with a lens flare, put on the original sun, so that it looks as if the bird was part of the picture.

Its lighting is awesome, but I noticed the reflections on its leg are also a problem. If you could retouch that one too (I suggest blur tool or paintbrush), it will be a masterpiece!

It seems to me like that branch is awfully high up...maybe put some more shadows on the hawk, otherwise it's lovely, I like birds, hawks are cool, very nice pic.

This looks pretty good, a couple of things though. I know how big a pain it is to selectively knock out an object or thing (such as the hawk) from a picture, I can tell you did a good job, but it's still pretty apparent that it was done.
Areas like fine fuzzy feather areas like around the ankles are too clumped compared to what they would normally look like. Suggestion on how to fix that could be to take the picture of the hawk in front of a blank color screen or paper, would make cutting it out from the background significantly less painful. Either way though, this really does look good and really, most people probably wouldn't notice the insignificant stuff I mentioned.

very cool!! I like the way you put motion into a stuffed hawk... he looks like he's ready to fly off.

This is nice. Isn't it creepy how realistic stuffed and preserved birds look?

Not a bad concept. The light on the hawk should better match the sky's strong backlighting though. Pretty cool, though.

It's very pretty and almost flawless... maybe you could make the branch shade darker... the shadow and place on it seem odd compared to where the sun is. PS: How do you use CS2? I have it and I hate it, I have 6.0 and it works so much easier for me...
