Deryllithe — Fiery Horse Print

Description A print, again, again.... This time I made up a fictive mythological creature. Álfröðull (a word for 'sun' in Icelandish) is the fiery horse who tölts (a gait typical for iceladic horses) over the firmament with the sun in his flaming mane. Every evening he is tricked by his sister Dimma ('darkness' in Icelandish) and falls down to the underworld. In the morning Álfröðull defeats Dimma, and climbs up to the sky again.

The original picture is etched on a copper plate. The upper pic is the 'real' one, and the lower a rather reddish version I printed just for fun.

It is really quite complicated with all the etching and stuff. I had a couple of desperate moments while trying to figure out how things worked....
