It's amazing how simply adding pupils helps out this design! It kinda speaks of how lazy the art style for Omniverse really is, doesn't it? This looks amazing!

No, that has nothing to do with being lazy, it's just a matter of design, that's like saying that the creators of Adventure Time were lazy for not draw noses or for put dots for eyes, or say that the creators of Samurai Jack were lazy for not put contour lines.
And talking about being lazy, the designs of UAF were much more lazy, the way they use images directly taken from the original series that contrast with the designs of the show (like the family photos in Ben's house), or that all specimens of the same species are exactly the same, or like the designs of the aliens that are so uncreative and generic (like Eatle, both of his design UA and OV were made by the same person and only the OV one look like a beetle), etc.

I'm sorry. You're right. The Omniverse art style isn't lazy. It just appears lazy when you compare it to the likes of say, The Legend of Korra or Young Justice. I know the styles are different. Monet, Van Gogh and DaVinci didn't use the same style and their work was all excellent.
The art style in Omniverse is too sophomoric compared to the subject matter of the plots. Yury Lowenthal's voice doesn't even sound right coming out of such a young-looking Ben.
Look at it this way, I would find it just as jarring if the producers of Adventure Time suddenly decided to give Finn a nose or if the producers of Samurai Jack decided to make the art style for the second season into the same one as Young Justice. Ben 10 was fine how it was with the art style in the Original Series. They shouldn't have messed with it back then. But, what they've done now is just freakish.

The problem is that these are different series with different styles that try to be different, The Legend of Korra tries to be more anime while Ben 10 OV tries to be more cartoon, that would be like comparing the styles of Tom and Jerry with Evangelion or say that the works of Picasso and Mondrian are lazy compared to Monet, Van Gogh and Da Vinci.
Adventure Time has a very childish style and still have complex plots, and I think the voice of Yuri sound better in this Ben that the previous one.
Adventure Time producers gave a nose to Finn, besides many series changes styles with the seasons: PPG, Dex Lab, Johnny Bravo, Jake Long, etc.
But you're right the original Ben 10 was fine as it was, but then came UAF and I must say although the new style is rare is refreshing compared to the two previous series.

It´s not only the big, eyes, as Divine pointed. It´s the head´s shape (especially now that you "fixed" it), the mouth´s curve and the little nose. Ben´s face elements used to have a... balance, let´s say, both in his OS and AF/UA versions. Now there´s not balance.

Well when you draw in 2D, which is the genre this is considered, things will be over exaggerated. That's just how cartoons work. Yes the previous Ben's had more of a realism to them, but it's new now, it's just how he draws and there's nothing we can do about it. My personal art style has become a mix of realism and the older Ben style, that's just how I draw. There is balance, but in an different way. We have no right to hate an artist's style when we ourselves are inferior.

We have no right? First, you´re lowering yourself too much. I´ve seen your other work, and you´re by afar a better artist than the man you´re defending. 
You´re sick of seeing us saying that Omni Ben has a cat face; well, I´m sick of seeing people saying that I don´t know anything about Art to criticize the oh-so-amazing Derrick Wyatt. I studied Arts many years on college and I was an Arts teacher! And EVEN if I hadn´t done anything of this, I´d HAVE ALL THE RIGHTS of being criptical for something I don´t think it´s right!
You don´t have to be a great artist to know how bad is another´s style... you just need to have knowledge of art, to have learned about many different art styles and seen so many different works of professional artists. Even if you never saw Michelangelo or Burne Hogarth´s drawings, you probably must have seen thousand and thousand of different, great works here on DA created by professional artists who certainly are in the market muuuuch longer than DJW.

Yes, cartoons can over exaggerate as much as they can, but you need to do more than just drawing when you're launching a new series of a well known character. First ben was a really well formed anatomy that get more realist with the other shows (alien force, etc.) then they just found out that making ben looking more young it will gather more audience.
Thats ok.. but if you're going to make it different, at least, use a better character design that looks cooler, not weirder. And, if you are going to use this new style to this settled up world, then use it for ANYONE, not just Ben,Gwen and Kevin... that makes em look kind of weird and out of place. Specially ben because his eyes are not normal, not for the style they are trying to use now..
I don't consider myself an inferior artist just because Im not on TV or paying my bills with my art. But I think that character design (on the human side) could be better
In my opinion I like how they try to "loose off" ben, not being so straight, more wild and more childish... but they should consider making him less scarier XD
