DD ? Oh My GodFirstly, Thank you A looooooooot SoulFighty for suggesting my first DD
and Thank you pica-ae for featuring my first DD ...
Secondly, Wooooooooooooooow ... I really did not expect this much of disagreements, it is really surprising
anyway, I don't know how should I start but,
the idea of the design is very simple
Imagination .. is .. not .. supposed .. to .. be .. shown ..
I'm not being sarcastic or anything. in fact I'm being serious and I do know the full meaning of what I'm saying.
basically, imagination is supposed to be imagined is meant to be imagined NOT to be shown ... that's why it is called IMAGINATION...
The idea basically started after I realised that most people think that any piece of art must be based on imagination ... imagination is a small job that the brain can do .. but it is not everything the brain does ... I agree art is mostly based on the brain of the artist ... that's why I did not say "art is not supposed to be shown" ..
however, most of what you see now a days in movies, video clips, designs, even advertisements is fully based on imagination ... so what I'm trying to say to all of them is "STOP ... stop showing me my imagination and let me imagine it" .. my brain has the right to feel that it's useful .. but by showing me something that needs to be imagined you are KILLING my brain and asks it to stop working cos what you are sowing me is already doing the job for it ...
not every piece of art is based on imagination .. and imagination is not your only way of being an artiest .. I know it is one of the ways but NOT THE ONLY .. you are an artist because of whatever you do, whatever you say, whatever you think about, not because you have the ability to show us what is in your mind ...
a real piece of art makes your brain work, think, improve ..
a real piece of art doesn't stop your brain from working or makes you just say " ummm, That looks nice!"
the real artist does not express him/her self ONLY on a "piece" of art .. Art to real artists is a life style, is a way of thinking, is everything .........

That"s really beautiful and i agree with you!! for exapmle books...i dont like when someone makes a film about it. Exactly because of this! I"ve imagined it already and when i watch the film im forced to watch others wiew..also there are many drawings without imagination, if you copy a pose or a base or something like that, it has nothing to do with your imagination but its still a pieace of art...
Or at least this picture meant these for me^^ btw at the other side,i think its isnt bad, i mean thse can be really inspirative!

I looked at this and thought something completely different to what you said in your discription, I saw that there was a (very) small "not" above the other (larger) "not" and I thought you were trying to say "Imagination is not not supposed to be shown".
What I read from your image was that the world is trying to tell you to stifle your imagination and that people are supposed to conform to society (for example always being told that becoming a profesional artist is an unrealistic dream), yet the very thing that they discourage us from doing (showing our imaginations) is the very thing that they crave, all-be-it in the form of media, architecture, photography and other kinds of art. I thought you were trying to get across the contrast of peoples words and their desires

I agree that the artist shouldn't spoon-feed the audience everything - especially in movies and books - they should leave some stuff out for us to imagine, but I'm not sure if I would call that 'imagination'. 'Imagination' isn't something physical that can be shown - you can show effects it has on you by making interesting art.
I think I understand what you wanted to say here, but the wording of the message makes it a bit confusing

I didn't choose the word "imagination" ... I agree that we are just using effects to illustrate our ideas and thoughts into designs,
but that illustration comes to us as imagination even if we are the one who made it

I agree with you, and don't worry about disagreements, everyone has a different view on imagination and they may not all see what you mean with this sentence. From your point of view, I do agree. Awesome !

Thankfully, we artists know better than to listen to what we are "supposed" to do.
This is brilliantly creative, by the way. I love the color scheme and the little text here and there. I only wish I could see it up closer, especially so I can know what that little angel-thing is at the bottom.

Also you nailed the reason why I like to read more than I like watching movies.
Maybe that's why it's hard to engage kids (and even a lot of adults) nowadays, they're duped by tons of 'shiny things', and they don't THINK.

But what do you do when someone doesn't WANT to think? Like when you try to feed a person vegetables. The healthy food is so good for them but they don't want to eat it, and they reject it at every turn? What should we do about people who don't like thinking and don't want to think?
If shiny things are all a person wants, are people wrong for making shiny things, or do you think it's the fault of the makers of the shiny things that it's like this?
