Description Here's where the love/hate relationship starts. I got to use my penbrush to ink my stuff, which I love, but then when I scanned the paper, I found out that my lines were thick, so I thought of doing a Lichtenstein-esque piece now. Crisis management at work, baby.

It may not be what you were trying to achieve, but nevertheless it stands on its own!

To lighten up the scan, you might want to try some of the filters in Photoshop. I played around with "sharpen" and "enhance focus" in a similar program called XnView . You may be happy with the results.

it's known that you have to use blue pencils for the roughs so that the scanning goes smoothly. i say that's too much lines! thanks for the tip, though.

I think it looks good in this style. I know how you feel though. My scanner butchers everything I put into it. Plus, you did an amazing job at the inking.

i'm not new with inking. it's just that it's been years since i last held the penbrush. i'll just do a different method the next time. thanks!

Ah yes, ink! I find it really difficult to ink my own work, but I think you've done a good job. it has that slightly pop art feel to it with the shading, and whilst it loses the subtlet of the pencil sketch, it gains a new edge. I think the ink suits this man's hairstyle too ^_^

thanks, jessica! yeah, you're right about the guy's hair. sadly i can't do the same for the girl. you know what, the next piece? another method.

I think it still looks pretty great. But I know where you are coming from. I scanned the first bit of a HUGE piece I'm working on to show a friend and I was crest fallen to see what my scanner did with it.
