At last! After days of much painting, rest, eating, tv, sleeping, going to job interviews, and painting again, here is my piece, in full color! I tried to take my technique up a notch, but personally, it's not much of a leap. You decide.All comments are helpful.
All lines were done in paths by the pen tool, no graphics tablet involved.

Ah, I see what you've done there, very neat! Especially without a tablet that must've taken you a very long time! Smooth lines do look tidy and give your art a more comiccy style.
I don't know if I can say whether I like it over your other colouring style, both are good, the pencil lined ones tend to be a tad more subtle so this picture goes well with the smooth lines ^_^
One thing i would say though is that the colour of her coat is fantastic but the shading's a teeny bit too dark so some of the brilliant details are lost in it... And that's a pity.
I'd love to see how this new technique develops!

wow, thanks!!!! yes, it did take some time. if i did get to do it in one sitting, it'd probably take 9-10 hours. and i don't know if i'd use this technique again soon. i'm still trying to make my lines really clean.
