That and I think you can be more artistically creative instead of just technically sound if that makes sense. People can make astounding flames but its just a solid singular image with intense tweaking on that one part. With UF you can say to yourself 'today I want to do something with hearts and flowers. Oh and some intense background texture for depth. or maybe a waterscape. or cityscape' and you can do just that with various layers, almost like painting or drawing. I feel freer working with it than I do apop.

You said what I've been thinking. I've seen some technically competent Apo fractals, but they are boring from an artistic standpoint. I think that's why I got tired of it. I got some metallic looking stuff, and thought, "so what?" But with UF, there is a tremendous variety of things you can do, textures, depth, shapes...even landscapes! So I see myself sticking with it, too. Once you get the basics down, you can grow and grow from there on out.

Thank you, Nance. I normall don't do much work in purples, but this shade is almost a brownish purple, and it goes with the subtle goldish shades. I liked the way this turned out.

Thank you, Sophie. This is similar to the fractal I used for your Hair Raising contest. I just tweaked the colors a bit. You're right, it is far more romantic than a lot of my stuff, and I love it! I think I'll be doing a lot of romantic fractals for awhile, especially the spirals. I'm nuts about those.

Oh? Do I see UF 4 in the Comments there? Yay!
Beautiful work, Jean! Working with ChaosPro will definately give you a great working knowledge and groundwork for UF.

Yes! You sure do. I'm having fun with it, too. Unlike ChaosPro, it doesn't freeze up, boot me out, or fail to work with layers. AND it has a nice tutorial! I've got to admit that using CP was a good start for something like UF, though. There's so much I already know; but there's probably a lot more I don't know!

I absolutely agree with you about CP's shortcomings. And the tutorials were horrible on CP, too. Even on CP's web site, they admitted that!
Janet Parke wrote the UF tutorials, and she's a great teacher.

It's sad when the creator of a program admits that there are bugs and problems with it. That's a tip-off that there will be a lot of downhill experiences! Is Janet Parke the lady who taught you through the online course?

Thank you, Lori. I don't normally work with mauve, but it turned out to be the right color for this factal.

Thank you, Smokey! I didn't even notice "beeing" until I read your other comment. I'm glad you like this one, though. I tried to upload it yesterday, but the system wouldn't take it.

People, in general, don't read word! It's normally what the comment, letter or whatever says in general
"Beeing" must be something bee, wasp or a large moth do
The problem is bad server - I can see it when I go on in the evening - no problems here in the morning
... and my pleasure

That's so true! I think we read what "should" be there, instead of what is actually there.
