Description
Another sunset photo I took on 1/25/07. The tree's silhouette looks rather good against the gold and blue sky.Related content

I remember the day I took this. It was really cold out, and that sky made it feel warm. I will never get tired of trees; they look so lovely in winter.

Thank you so much; it's such a simple shot, yet it was pretty. I find that, if I think the scene is pretty in real life, it also looks great in a photo! Thank you for the , too!

The tree in front of the sun really does look beautiful.

Thank you. I think it added just a little interest to the pretty sky colors in the background.

Beautiful view! YouΒ΄re right, the tree makes a great silhouette in front of the sky here!

Thanks. Sometimes, the simple shots look the best, especially if there's a sunset involved.

Yes and you didn't get an over exposed light flare (if you know what I mean).

Yes, I do know. I hate lens flare; sometimes they're unavoidable, but I always hate them.

Yes sometimes the arm isn't long enough to shield the sun from the lense
I hate that effect on fractals too. Sometimes it takes me ages to try to get rid of it in spheres for instance.

You mean the reflected light on quaternion spheres? I've noticed that sometimes, the light spot is way too bright, and it's hard to soften it.

Yes and on certain images with a lot of radial blur.

Thank you. It's kind of simple, but I liked it, and the tree trunk blocked out the sun so that the sky could show its natural colors.

Thank you. There's not a lot to photograph this time of year, so I've been concentrating on sky and weather shots.

There's that wonderful tree again, or is this a different one, either way great shot.

thanks, Nance. No this is a different tree, a few blocks away. I go down to the school yard once in awhile to get some good sky shots; this tree had a nice shape and blocked out the direct sunlight, so I used it it the scene. the sky colors came through very nicely because of the sun's being blocked.

Thank you very much. I liked the tree trunk blocking the direct sun like that, too; it gave me a better chance to get a good, colorful sky shot. Normally, if I shoot into the sun, the picture is really dark and is hard to improve with Photoshop. If I shoot at a different angle, with the sun in the sky, I get lens flare. So the best situation is to have something blocking it out...and hopefully, that something will be natural and pretty!
