Description
Hey! This is my second dragon for the month, and this time, I invented a species of Dragon that could inhabit our Planet Earth! She's called the Folibaca Pygmy Dragon and she's inspired by a Newt, Bat and Gecko. This little Dragon has her own information though and hopefully she's one of a kind. I've made a list of themes for myself, to draw 20 Dragons this month. The first theme was a Strawberry Bush so this is what I came up with! I might even make these dragons future potential adoptables, who knows? Below is a bit of information on her;
Name: Berry Leaf (Folibaca) Pygmy Dragon
Size (From head to tail): 15 cm - 40 cm
Habitat: Mixed Forests
Diet: Herbivorous
Movement Style: Lacks walking speed, Mostly Flies
Gender Variation: Males have Redder spots lining their body and darker coloured green skin (The one pictured is a Female)
Type of young: Eggs
Mating Season: July - August
The Folibaca is a small timid Dragon species, and she is very feral. She lacks sharp teeth, only have little nubs, she thrives on fresh soft berries and leaves, earning her the name Folibaca (Folium means leaf, Baca means berry). These Dragons are known for terrorizing strawberry farms during their mating season, in July and throughout August. They have a fondness for Strawberries and have even adapted to blend into strawberry, raspberry and cranberry bushes. They will pluck the largest leaf from the bush to hold over their head as they raid the nearby farms, whenever something approaches, they curl up and use the leaf to hide themselves amongst the shrubbery. These little critters are very smart, and they have excellent eyesight, being able to spot berries from miles away. Unlike other dragon species, they do not spit venom, but their looks advertise that they are toxic. This however, is all a trick. Folibaca are solitary Dragons and only come together in the mating season, once it's over, they part ways and the mothers raise their young by themselves. When babies have fully matured, they're chased away from the nest. Folibaca nest in the bark of trees and burrows in the ground. They make the most of strawberry season, and before winter, gather leaves and berries to hoard in their homes. Humans consider them a pest, and use dogs to protect their land. This way the little critters will not approach at all, as they're too timid to. They are not known to be kept as pets due to their very timid nature. Their scales are smooth and soft like that of a snake, their wings and spots are a soft feeling.
