Description

I ended up being busy again today, gosh, so I only got to draw at around 4 oclock onwards. This drawing took a total of around 2 hours to do, I started the lineart yesterday but I just couldn't colour it properly, so I tried again today. The concept is of a boy who has to wear a mask to hide who he truly is. I've pictured him a boy of a rich family who has to be formal and polite, taking over his families business, when he actually aspires to be free and independent. He is roped down by his family and feels like there's no escape, and forced to pretend he is something he's not. Behind him are meant to be mirrors, I tried to make them look like mirriors but put less detail on the images portrayed on them so that the boy was the main focus. I removed the eyes since people say the eyes show a persons soul, and this boy can't show who he really is.

I tried out a different skin tone today, a more orange tone, it's a really nice complexion to work with! I also tried out a different way of drawing a nose by making part of it outlined while the other part isn't. Honestly hate drawing noses and hands. I wanted him to look stiff like a maniquinne but with the expression and hand gestures of someone who wants to break free, so I gave him a composed upright stand with a contorted hand trying to break free and a sad expression with no glints in his eyes. I'll probably draw some more today, and since it's saturday, I'm going to do some anatomy study. I'll upload that later. Thanks for looking at my drawing! c:
