The History
Nestled in the heart of the Texas Panhandle, Desperado Ranch is a family tradition that has been passed down for generations. Desperado has unique origins that all started in the late 1800's with a British stowaway. Unsatisfied with his home environment and seeking something more from life, Julius Marshall at the age of 17 climbed aboard a ship that, unknown to him, was headed to the American state of Texas with fine cattle. It was not long before the boy was discovered by the crew and was put to work tending to the livestock. The captain was rather impressed by the eager, young man and upon reaching port in Freeport, Texas, he put in a good word with the stock importer and Julius was offered a job on the spot working cattle.
