Things we think will last forever fall apart. It's so hard, when foundations crumble, but you get to build anew from the ground up. You might not have noticed how ugly the wall really was till it's gone

Really wanted to develop her story further, while keeping her with the 'words'. I like to think she enjoys reading. Her situation is more hopeful here, she is tackling the problem. Inspired by a real girl I saw (please read the description of 'brOKen') I send lots of love and thanks out to her. I know my 'brOKen' image has been shared a lot online and I can't help but wonder if she's seen it...

I had a moment like this last year. I was with this one boy, who I had met last year and thought was so sweet. And he was. He loved me and cared about me, and he promised that we would last forever. I was really nervous, since he was my first real relationship, but he never got mad at me or pushed anything. The days I spent with him were happy, and he made me feel like a queen, like i was worth something. He taught me how to feel special, and to see in myself how I'm special.
One month, two months went by, and all that went away. There was no transition, no warning; just blank emptiness, and general recognition. I would walk by; he wouldn't even say hi. I would hold on to him like I used to; he'd shove me away and yell at me "DON'T TOUCH ME!!!" without even considering how those three words made me feel, how they scarred me inside. It's not that he hated me; he just didn't care. He didn't even care about me as a human being to tell me he didn't care. I stayed for another three months, never seeing this: only how much I wanted the boy who promised me the world to come hold my hand again. Then, like he had with me, the love and care was reduced to almost nothing. So I left, worried beyond a doubt that I had scarred him the way he'd scarred me, only to see him walk off with another girl, whispering the same words of love and promise he'd spoken to me.
I'd thought that he was the one. The fact that he so blatantly wasn't left it's mark, and so did the choices I'd made for him. They still haunt me sometimes, but they don't hurt the way they used to. I've found a greater treasure and grander glory than mine eyes have ever seen, and with him I don't just feel happier than I have ever felt; I feel like forever when I'm with him. And now, when I go back to the wall I'd painted over, the one that used to show what the other boy I'd been with was like, all I can think was how it was such an ugly color.
I'm sorry for blabbing so much; it's just that I'm tired of feeling like this is something I should be ashamed of when I know it isn't. Every choice I've made has shaped me into the person I am today, and to be honest, I'm pretty happy with how I've turned out-for both my strengths and flaws. It's just that your work always inspires me, and helps me learn about both the world and myself-past, present, and future. Don't ever change who you are or what you do, because even though I don't know you personally, I know that you are an amazing person, and the world needs more people like you
