This. This. This and This again.Story of my life at the moment. Not because I don't want to talk, because I can't. Unfortunately some things you have to go through alone. My piece was also inspired by my situation, though things have got tougher recently. I am very lucky to have some very close friends I confide in though
I appreciate and am so thankful for them. Sorry I can't share more online...Its such at odds with my personality. I'm an eternal optimist. Anyone who knows me or has met me at a convention knows I love to laugh and it takes a lot to get me down, unfortunately this is. Well, its inspiration at least
One day I'll be able to tell everyone everything's not fine, but for now,
I'm fine.

Yes, I am the original artist, and no, I didn't copy anything else. I know there's loads like this around now but there certainly wasn't when I drew this in 2011!
(Though I'm sure I'm not the only person to have come up with an idea like this XD)I love that so many people have been inspired by this

On a personal note: The situation which is represented is (very thankfully) over. It was a really rough period of my life, which unfortunately triggered some mental health troubles, but the situation itself is as resolved as it'll ever be. I can stand today and know that I am a stronger and more compassionate person because of it.

If you have a problem YOU NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT, but you have to find the right person to open up. Sometimes the people who love us the most aren't the best choice, even if they mean really well, because they don't have the means or the knowledge to understand what's going on with our mind. Your brain is a amazing thing, but when it's not working right it can become a big problem.
Sometimes you have to find someone who can understand you and that you have have complete confidence that will lend you their hand in the most honest and right way. You also have to be ready to hear or face things that you won't like. That's because when we're feeling down our perception of things is broken and we can't tell when people are trying to help us.
I'm telling you all this out of experience. I was suffering from anxiety and depression sometime ago and when I couldn't take it anymore I told my parents. Because I couldn't explain myself correctly they misunderstood how I felt. They really tried to help me, I'm sure of that, but in the end it didn't do much good. It just made me realize that I almost hit rock bottom, feelings-wise.
I've been handling things by myself, without any help, and it hasn't been the best experience or the best decision, because it's a little hard to notice progress on your own.

We never know what happiness really means until we have walked the path of pain.
I found this picture today, December 2, 2015, the tenth anniversary (if you can call it that) of my mother's passing.
The pain doesn't really go away, it fades away, but not completely, not ever, which is in some ways best since to not feel or remember the pain is to lose one's own ability to feel, to lose one's emotions, to lose one's own heart.
I can only hope and pray that you, Destiny Blue, managed to leave the path of dark grief and heartbroken shadows and returned to the world of light and hope.

Life isn't a contest. Some people handle things much better than others. Example: when my father passed away last year I didn't shed a tear; meanwhile, my sister was in hysterics and still has a hard time living with it. Saying people have it worse isn't going to make someone feel better. To be blunt - and pardon my french - it's a shitty thing to say.
With that said, I'm glad things got better for you Destiny. Keep moving forward! <3
