Well, heh, they usually just make a mess and leave.... but, maybe this time...
Sophie's story. Her trust; like a little bud as it blooms, opening her petals, through the fragility and vulnerability, inviting someone to enjoy her colours.
Painted in Autodesk's Sketchbook Pro 7. Which was really fun to work with! Done for their challenge, of which I was the judge

Beautiful. This one really speaks to me. For years I couldn't stand having anyone standing behind me, having anyone close to my back and especially couldn't bear anyone touching my back even casually. It took a long time for anyone to gain my trust enough to come close to doing any of that. One day when my (at the time) girlfriend was brushing my hair for me, she said: "when I met you I couldn't even get this close to you. And now you let me do this and let all of our friends touch your back without flinching." So the keyhole to her trust being on her back is really personal to me

i like the duality of this because she's showing her back so that someone can use the key, but it's also a huge risk of being stabbed in the back (or having her lock picked without her permission, either way)

This is exactly what I had thought at first. The obvious choice is a key to my heart, but to have the keyhole on her back.... It speaks to her uniqueness, her vulnerability, and past. Such a beautiful twist that is so touching.
