Description
In celebration of our nation's 47th National Day (9th August 2012), I decided to revisit one of my first digital pieces [link] and 'reboot' the design from scratch while incorporating elements from the original design.Do download the full image if you'd like a better view of all the details and decals.
Comments and critiques are much appreciated!
Happy Birthday, Singapore! This is my tribute to a wonderful homeland full of endearing memories and exciting opportunities!

Personal History:
Born ██/██/1991, MAJ JACQUELINE XIE LI TING was a natural scholar and academic, constantly topping her classes, gaining recognition as an incredibly intelligent young woman. Following the footsteps of her father, she joined the Singapore Armed Forces upon graduation from ██████████████. She took a short, 3-year break from her training after coming out top of her class in the Officer Cadet Course to major in both Political Science and Military Strategy in the ████████████████████████, ██████. Upon return to the SAF, MAJ JACQUELINE XIE LI TING was appointed field commander of the ███████ Commando Strike Team, participating in several notable operations across Asia, including ██████████████, ██████████████ and ████████████████, during which her calm, strike-first-ask-later rapid-response leadership style brought out the best in her team, resulting in operational successes with minimal casualties to personnel.
Soon after her return to Singapore after Operation ██████████, MAJ JACQUELINE XIE LI TING accepted participation in the Powered Combat Suit Initiative alongside her CST. Outfitted with the latest in ST Kinetics prototypes, MAJ JACQUELINE XIE LI TING now leads the PCSI team, dubbed the "Titanium Maidens" in operational field tests under ██████████████, a separate chain of command.
Provided Armaments:
ST Kinetics Prototype Armoured Suit "Brynhildr"
Lightweight ceramic-based ballistic armor, combined with a multi-layered threaded-kevlar undersuit and a kinetic barrier generator, provides for strong, solid protection against most types of ballistics and shrapnel while allowing for comfort and full range of motion. An on-board computer interfaces with and seamlessly integrates upgrades and additional armaments that attach onto the suit at hard-points on the arms, back and legs.
PS-Valkyrie High-Mobility Propulsion System
ST Kinetics proprietary holo-wing generation technology allows for minimal energy expenditure during operations without compromising speed and agility. Wings may be folded into a compact form when not required (e.g. temporary land-based combat). An additional, unprecedented method of use discovered by Major Xie during Operation ██████████ is the overcharging of the holo-wing projectors to generate a single electromagnetic pulse that disabled electronics within a range of █████m. This, however, caused the assigned prototype unit to overheat, and it was purged from the suit to avoid personnel injury in the ensuing explosion.
Vajra CQC Weapons Platform
Three variable-voltage kinetic plasma generators mounted on a personnel-friendly one-man platform. Plasma projectiles proved devastating in field tests, providing short-range lethal power without the need for high-explosives or heavy ordnance. However, the weapons easily overheat if fired in long bursts, thus users are trained to fire efficiently in single well-aimed shots. Plasma weaponry proved less efficient at long range due to the loss of ionic charge of projectiles over time. Major Xie has modified the top-mounted generators to be able to project contained plasma fields that she uses as a large claw-like weapon for close-quarters hand-to-hand combat.
X-4 Widowmaker Man-Portable Turret System
A four-barrel rapid-fire laser weapon allows for large amounts of suppressive fire to be laid down upon enemy positions while eliminating the need for the cooldown time between shots. An effective mid- to long-range suppressive weapon that has been used on ships, land vehicles and planes, configured for use on armoured suits. An additional plasma cannon has been added upon personal request by Major Xie.

SG is a commonly-used abbreviation that refers to Singapore, my country

I agree with the comment on the face proportions. Other than that I am amazed with the difference between this piece and the original. Nice work

First off, I have to compliment the amount of detail you've put in! Though, that also makes it hard to read without good lighting and shine on the metal objects. I suggest keep practicing the proportions of the face, because even for anime, it looks slightly off balance. Also, try referencing color for skin and the metal because those aren't realistic colors and it drags down the believability of the piece. So, keep going and you'll definitely improve your anime skills!

Noted, and thank you for the feedback! I always appreciate any criticisms on colours and colouring, since it's one of the parts I most have difficulty with.
I hope you don't mind me asking: When referencing colours, is it sufficient to just 'pick' colours from palettes and/or images, or do I need to go into the colour mixer and 'self-generate' (or rather, in my case, get someone to generate them for me since I'm terribly colour-blind >.<)?

If you color pick from the photo, you aren't training your eye to see value, saturation and hue. Plus, you're picking from a very small space, so the colors could be very random. In colorblindness, I'm not exactly sure, because to an untrained eye, many colors can look correct. I guess with a lot of practice you'll know what you're doing. It's something I definitely need more practice on myself!

Noted. Thanks again for the advice I really appreciate it! Looks like I'll just have to keep practising then

The detail in the clothing is absolutely wonderful. It all looks constructed very well! I know I wouldn't have the patience to design something like that |D Especially the wings.
I think the only thing that could use a little improvement is the anatomy of her face. The region around her mouth and jaw is too little, which makes it look cramped. If you make that bigger and reposition the mouth, I think it would look much better!
But wonderful job!
Keep up the good work.

Wow. Amazing job on the detail. I'm not huge fan of the anime style anymore, but i think you pulled it off really well. I do not have the patience to do something like this. X) The writing is cool too. I suggest more shading in the clouds maybe. They seem to be done in a slightly different style than the rest. Define them a bit more maybe?

Thank you Doing backgrounds and scenery from scratch is still one of my weakest areas, so your feedback is much appreciated!

Similar, its a hyper girl on a prototype Aerial suit with guns mounted on her arms. But i will of course make it a bit different. And kudos to you, i am proud of artists like you.

Thanks! The description is something I came up with at the last minute, after I had submitted the picture; Thought it would lend a bit of 'cool factor' to the piece as a whole

This it leaps and bounds above the last one- and I really like how you put more thought into the function of the armored suit as well as form. The incorporation of your nations five sigil stars on the 'feathers' of the wings not only looks neat, it definitely gives it a more patriotic feel for your homeland.
The cautionary signs are fantastic, they give it that added touch of realism, to push the idea that that is a piece of military equipment.
The only think that sticks out to me as needing improvement is your light source. You've got three going on, so it can be quite difficult to work with, but keep at it! - The part that sticks out to me the most is on her bum. With a light source on either side, I would put the shadows on the interior of her thighs...that's just me though.

Thank you! Yes, lighting is definitely one area where I still need practice in, especially in pictures like these where, as you said, there are multiple light sources coming from so many directions; I can forget to keep track of all of them at times
