Description
and the next awesome model is donethat's the reason why i just love this shit so much
and i just knew it would be cool
as i saw this model for, well, meanwhile also over a year ago
i just had to ask sanat49 for it
and i'm very thankfull and proud that he spend his original mesh for a papercraft project
the cool thing about this model is, that it's an entry for the pre-DominanceWar V competition, where i'm also a huge fan of
what made this model, not the first Dominance War Papercraft, but the first downloadable (ironic hint to an other crafter
...
but that's up to the 3d designer
ok now, back to the model
the last steps, where you have to combine all parts will be exhausting
specially for the big shoulder armor pieces
there is not many space for glue or failures so be patience
test it out first where you can attach the pieces
also you have to put some weight into the rear leg or maybe both
maybe you noticed also that i attach the model a bit displaced at the pedestal
i had to do this because of the weight ratio
it's a lot testing and trying
so don't hurry
file description:
the file contains as always three pdo files
one with texture and folding lines
one with texture and without folding lines
and one white version with folding lines
so you need the Pepakura Viewer what you can get "here"
all three pdo's are not protected
so if you have the Designer, you can edit the sheets in the way you want
the original texture is NOT included
model description:
the model come on 27 pages with 290 pieces and is 30cm tall
the model is actually not hard but the mouth take a bit more work as i thought
also the first three rings of the arms
the skulls and bones of the pedestal are very small but it's up to you if you wanna build them
i removed the lower site of the pedestal, it is too big for one page
but just glue the whole thing at a blank sheet and you have the same effect
difficult level is about 7/10
if you have any trouble, feel free to ask me or/and take a look at the "building process gallery" where i explain how this and that is working
to download the model
click on the download button on the right side
you can thank dA for, that i can't write the direct link anymore
some words to the bloggers
because this is a collab, you have to give credits to sanat49 too!
otherwise i can't allow it to write a blog entry
you have the permission to use my photos
you DON'T have the permission to use his renders ore screenshot of it
except he allow it
this model is a Deviantart only download
so do not upload this model somewhere else
and the most important thing
this model is free and should it be
so let it be!
and trust me, i search for my stuff
feel also free to write a critique

Heyo!
As I said here a few weeks ago, I printed this croc, but I just had time to start the building now... ^^"
I'm not encountering major issues, just a little detail: where am I supposed to glue the three little "blades" just up his wrists? Cause after building hands, wrists and these"blades", I don't really see how to put them, there's nothing to do with...Maybe I should have done a few notches on the wrist to put them in? Or is there something that should be slightly altered to turn into a kind of tab? Maybe they're simply glued to the rest of the harm...?
I have to admit I can't really find the good solution and I'll be really glad if you helped me with that
(P.S: Smooth building didn't work at all when I tried it with this model (but I'm maybe not good enough at this to do so ))

*yush*
sry for the late replay
the three blades are just glued to this wristband
you need to try it how much space you need that you can connect them
the same for the shield/sword on the other arm and the knee and shoulder armor
it's a bit tricky to combine this all this tuff together

Heyo!
I'm pretty interested in building this craft. But this model is "hard" built (I assume this isn't the right word), in the sense that you've folded every line, which leads to a polygonal render. I understood you unfolded it (?) so I think you'd know: is it built like this cause you like the render it provides, or is it because the craft forces this way of building? I mean, do you think this is doable with the smooth technique, which means without folding most of the lines to ensure a soft, rounded render?
(This question may look stupid and i'm sorry if it is, but I already found models with pieces that wouldn't fit if every lines weren't folded...)
Oh, and btw, just a personal curiosity: did you edge-color this model?

no problem
i answer every question (and no question is stupid )
yes it's a polygone render, the reason of this is, if you have quads, there are sometimes very ugly hidden folds what i had at Renamon, you just don'T know where to fold
so i convert them totally into polys
actually i don't know if it's possible to build it with smooth foldings
i don't do this because i'm not very handy in this technique
and quite every edge is recolored
