Wow. never expected to make Scooby-Doo fanart, but here we are. Anyways, it's the chest of demons from the 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, the best SD series in my opinion, so much nostalgia from my childhood. LOL Too bad the series was cancelled, it was the only SD series where the monsters were actually monsters. It also featured the great late Vincent Price. Anything with Vincent Price is automatically a success to me. I actually still have two Halloween pieces waiting to be uploaded, I just made this really quick and spontaneously. It was mostly based on the first piece of animation in the series opening. [link]I used this tutorial to help me with the metal texture, I think it really helped!

So, did you know there's a new animated movie coming out that's based on the 13 ghosts of scooby doo, one that
is apparently set to bring closure to that classic series. It's called "Scooby Doo and the curse of the 13th Ghost"

The 13th ghost is Asmodeus, prince of demons and the ancestor of Vincent Van Ghoul. This was revealed in the latest Scooby doo movie, Scooby Doo! And the Curse of the 13th Ghost, and that movie sucked and I hate Velma now. Asmodeus is the real 13th ghost, yes, but in the movie, he was just another guy in a mask, an old friend of Vincent. After he was caught, Vincent saw a hallucination of Asmodeus which turned onto his ancestor Asmod Van Ghoul. Vincent was the only one who saw this and Velma lied to him saying his ancestor sought redemption and not revenge and followed Vincent around as his guardian angel ( if so, he must have forgotten this when he tried to kill Vincent at the beginning of the movie). So what I'm saying is, the 12th ghost is the Bermuda Triangle captain, confirmed in the movie, Asmodeus is the 13th ghost, he was another guy in a mask meaning the real Asmodeus could be out there eating babies for lunch, leaving the conclusion to the 13 ghosts of scooby doo open ended again.

Ah yes, that chest. It's probably one of the best monster prisons I've seen as a kid. It's a shame that they never fought the actual 13th ghost, my guess is that he/she/it would have been an all powerful ghost, and the finale would have been a two parter.
Anyway, this looks good and badass, it captures the dark/Gothic yet cartoony atmosphere of the show.
Fun fact: One of the writers and show runners was Tom Ruegger, the creator/writer of Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Histeria!, Freakazoid! and Road Rovers. That's pretty cool.

Yeah, wish it would have gone all the way through, if only to give me a reason to enjoy even more of Vincent Price's work.

Then again it was pretty nonlinear at times, with random demons coming out and going into the chest that wern't the main villains even the Intro showed random demons.

Yeah, it was episodic, but it still would have been interesting to see them capture all 13 ghosts.

13 episodes but only eleven demons caught. A shame they didn't get the last two Demons. I bet the Last ones are the most powerful.

Oh! How I loved this cartoon. The 13 Ghost of Scooby-Dog waso ne Teletoon every halloween when I was little. I didn't like the end though because it always felt like there was an episode missing at the end. The series never felt completed. I loved Dauphnee in it though! She was all kick-ass and in charge. Awesome

Yeah, always used to watch it on teletoon too. It was like that because they canceled the show, so there really was no ending.
