Robot & Monster is a show that just recently premiered on Nickelodeon this week. As far as the plot goes, it's fairly typical. A robot and monster are friends who work together at Robot's dad's factory and live in the same apartment. The factory is supervised by Robot's brother Gart. This particular episode is about the relationship between Robot and his brother. This episode, which is called "Between Brothers", despite being a kid's show, left me feeling uneasy. The relationship between these two seemed so sad and it made me angry so I wrote in this little dialogue between the two. This is the exact ending I wanted for this episode. If anything, I hope it happens, eventually. The setting is the kitchen at Robot and Monster's apartment.

Gart: "How does it feel, Robot, knowing that I'm smarter, better-looking, the favorite of the house and all around better than you in every single way? How does it feel, knowing that you will ALWAYS be in my shadow?"

Robot looks down at the floor, thinking about his mediocre life. He had the basics, an apartment, a job, and his best friend, Monster. Everything had hit him at once. Robot draws his eyes back up into a stare through his brow line, a burning gaze aimed right at Gart's cocky smirk. He thinks for a second and sighs.

Robot: "What does it matter? You're right. You have everything: looks, money, success, but I don't envy you at all. You want to know why? You're a miser, an obnoxious, manipulative, greedy, selfish, pompous, prideful miser. Not only that, you're a jerk. I remember... ever since I was a little bucket of nuts and bolts, you had treated me like garbage. I remember being young, naive. I looked up to you. You were my hero. I wanted to be just like you: handsome, popular, successful. You were my world, my big bro. I loved you. Yet despite my admiration of you, despite my desperate attempt to be your friend, you wanted nothing but to make sure that I would never be anything great. You verbally beat me to the ground, insulted me, and you spat on me. What kind of brother are you? What kind of brother takes his greatest fan, and treats him like trash? You're a horrible brother! In fact, you just might be the absolute worst brother who ever existed! I don't want to be anything like you anymore! I hate you! I don't care if I never become popular. I don't care if I am average-looking. And I don't even care that I work for somebody as completely awful as you!... You know what? I'm fine with it, all of it. I have my best friend, Monster. I have my apartment. And I have my minimum wage job. And that's enough for me. Every single thing about you makes me grateful I'm not you. I am grateful for everything I have, but you'll never be happy because you will struggle your entire life to meet an unattainable goal of perfection. All it would take to make my life perfect is to know that I would never have to see you again."

Robot gets up from the table.

Robot: "It was nice talking to you. See you later, bro.

Robot gets up and leaves the room, exiting through the front door. Gart's mouth is wide open. He looks over to monster, who's over at the sink wiping down a clean dish.

Monster: "Wow... just...wow."

Monster goes about his business, ignoring the brother as he buries his face into his arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
