Description Your life is a canvas, the world is an atelier

You don't need to find out who painted this and how that person looks like. The picture speaks for itself. The "artist" is gone but he/she is still there, ne?

My little "atelier" I made up for myself in hospital. The other works are not by me.

Self-portrait, unfinished, acrylics on self-made canvas.
Photo: O² Xda nova mobile phone, IrfanView, Paint.
damn right. That notebook has no useful programs so I had to improvise to have a coloured painting on a b/w pic *dies*

I really like the colour contrast.

Also the anatomy looks flawless.

I have canvas at home, but it's still blank, I wonder what I should paint, any suggestions?
(I was thinking about a Gryphon )

See, i can't really draw/paint too, but that's only my opinion about myself. There is this book from Betty Edwards, i dunno how the book is called in english, but it's a very good book about learning to draw, but at the moment i didn't finish it, cos i'm a lazy guy, haha.

With this book you should be able to draw better then you ever imagined, that's (in my own words) what the book says.

Maybe it helps you, please try to find it in english language (or whatever language you like most)

sorry for my double post :/ but while i pushed the send-button for my other post, i was thinking: "hmm, this book teaches you the same what musicians learn while they learn to play 'by ear' "

that's it. you learn to draw with the correct brain-side, cos one (the left one) is for speech and mathematical thinking and "rational" stuff. but the right brain-side (hemisphere) is for creativity and so on, that is what you learn in the book.

hope it helps ^_^

Greetings,
Ingo

btw. in the book itself the english version is called "The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. A Course in Enhancing Creativity and Artistic Confidence".

So it should be easier for you to find it

oh, and btw. the Autor is Betty Edwards ^_^

Try it! Try it!

It's necessary to try something new and if it's not getting they way you wanted it, you still are able to find out why and what to change

Mmmh ... if you think of a gryphon, why not try it?

well, maybe because I suck balls at drawing anything that does not look like the human eye or a silly something that doesn't exist so it doesn't have to look like anything. (I prefer the last)

So errr... But I think I'll try it anyways.

That's really cool
I don't think it needs to be anymore finished. Looks great as it is.
Works really well in the black and white photo too

yeh, that's the lot / fortune we all have to live with

what i wanna say, is, that every artist knows this, more or less.

i don't like "artistic holes" too, but it seems as if we have to live with them

(damn, the Mood-box on the right side doesn't load -.-)

We should use them to create something else of equal (or similar) value
and if it's just a smile on another one's face
