did i make this mostly to test out my new tablet? maybe. does it fit the theme of all the weird stuff i've been doing lately? sure thing!i'm definitely not going to do one of these name things for every boss, but as you all know i do quite like cagney, so here he is! art phyllis. what a name, huh? let's be nerdy and explain it.
Arthur is the name of the man who penned the first written description of a venus flytrap, which i thought was rather appropriate, and cagney felt more like an art than an arthur so there we've got his first name!
Phyllis is derived from the latter portion of the latin name for carnation, dianthus caryophyllus. and as you know, i like my dumb puns sometimes.
as for this piece itself, i think it turned out pretty nice! this is definitely more my style than cuphead, especially with all that dramatic lighting, and i don't know if that aesthetic will remain a thing! the ambiance is certainly better, but i don't know if i'll keep it like this. something to consider!
anyway, thank you so much for your patience. i really am quite busy, and wish i had more time to work on this stuff. but i am trying to make every post count, which is why this one's such a doozy. i should be able to get out another post before chapter 15, though! so heads up for that. also, if there's a particular boss from chapter 14 you'd like to see expanded upon, let me know! thanks so much for your continued support, and have a lovely day!
