this is the most festive thing i'm doing this halloween, and dangit it's going to be... slightly better than average.

i've been really busy lately, but i wanted to do a little something to commemorate the season. i had a few more ideas with other bosses, but time is a thing that i don't have much of so here we have the few jokes i confirmed were funny enough to do and easy enough to at least sort of finish. i was thinking of doing costumes, but everyone's kind of done that already, and besides i got way too caught up in being historically accurate in terms of 30s costumes, which are pretty limited. if nothing else this little piece is a wish fulfillment; i wanted to carve pumpkins this year, and that just never came to be. but hey, i sure can draw other people doing it!

also inkwell isle doesn't seem like a dress-up kind of place to me, at least not the way i've written the debtors. i hit a wall because i figure they'd all want to dress up as their former selves, but would be too embarrassed to do such a thing in public. so i guess i'd portray it as more of a general "hooray for harvest season and scaring away scary things with pumpkins" kind of deal, hence this piece's title.
