Description I think I may have actually over-listened to this song making this.... bah, who am I kidding, you can never over listen to Nirvana! Unless it starts to make you depressed....

Yeah, felt like drawing Kurt I guess. I wanted to base it off of a song, but I wasn't sure what one. I eventually just started listening to this one, You Know You're Right, the last song they ever recorded, and I got to thinking about it's meaning.

I kind of took it as Kurt's final message to Frances, telling her how much he admired her, such as steaming soup against her mouth when he fed her; when she was born Kurt definitely was happier. But he knew how depressed he was with his life, hinted in the lyrics telling her he's moving away, and crawling away for good. He only wanted the best for his daughter, and he wasn't good enough for her. He knew he would kill himself eventually, he had suicide genes (as he said about his family). I also think he was hinting at Courtney in this song, she used him for money and only cared for her own well-being. He was planning on divorcing her before his death.

And that's all I got. I think I may have gotten some of the lyrics wrong though... oh well, I'm sure it's close enough. Oh yush.

I don't have a favourite song when it comes to Nirvana, they're all so good. Too hard to choose (but this one's high up on the list)

Thanks you!

You're reasoning of the song is similar to mine.
You Know You're Right is one of Kurt's most powerful songs... ever.
It gets me every time.

I knew I couldn't have been the only person who felt this way about You Know You're Right. What a way to make your last song, it's almost as if Kurt knew it would be his last. It's days like this when you wish Kurt was still alive so you could get his thoughts on it.

It's even worse when you're reading the end of "Godspeed" and this song's playing. I started tearing up, it's so depressing. And yet so meaningful at the same time.

God I know. And the way he sings it is really... eerie. His voice sounds very worn out and and almost... like, he could hardly sing anymore. I'm pretty sure he knew it was going to be his last. I think he knew a lot more than we can even imagine.
"Godspeed"?

Like he was putting his last breath into that song, kind of. Kurt always liked to plan things out before he did them, maybe this song was his plan.

It's a book called Godspeed: The Kurt Cobain Graphic. It's a comic about Kurt's life, but told from his point of view. You can tell at some parts Courtney told the writers things because she's seen as more of the one being hurt in their relationship. Other than that it's quite the read. The part I was talking about was when Kurt went to shoot himself, you didn't hear the shot but you saw his legs through the window as it was raining. Then his childhood friend Boddah's shadow appeared looking though the window saying "Kurt wakes up now". He had said that to Kurt at the beginning when he was a child to wake him up. Except Kurt didn't wake up this time.

I know. It nearly brings me to tears everytime I read the end. Even worse when you're listening to a sad Nirvana song.
