I got around to make a sequel to [link] on popular demand.
it was fun though, to just my imagination loose on what the next How to train your dragon movie might look like. I imagined it would be winter, since it obviously snows a lot in Berk (in north generally)
I might have gone a bit overboard on the colors, but I like it that way, I kinda imagined that it would be a colorful 2D movie.
if you want, here is a fun thing you can do, write a comment on what you think the storyline is

well, here goes...
The viking apperentices go on a hunting trip, (no adults,) get lost, and then theres a big bizzard. they all get seperated (Hiccup,Astrid Ruff,Tuff Snotlout,Fishlegs) and hiccup and Astrid run into a dragon that tries to attack Hiccup. Toothles blocks it, and they get into a fight. Other dragon flys off, badly injured. Toothles looks dead. (during the fight Astrid runs off to find help,) Everybody shows up while hiccup is grieving. Toothles's leg twitchs, and he lives! (YIPPIE!) Stoick sends a search party on the 7th day, and it finds them. they all go home to berk...END

Whilst the Vikings are celebrating their victory against teh supar dragoon, the dragons start yelping and squawking and trying to get away, the most loyal trying to take their masters. The gang are swept away just in time to see their village ripped apart by a hurricane, which carries off a lot of the inhabitants, livestock and dragons. Off-winds ground them and they wake in a night forest. Luckily, they've got maps of it. Unluckily, they ain't got a clue where they are. What's more, they've landed apart, and in a Whispering Death's nesting grounds. Eventually, they're reunited with their dragons and each other in a clearing, the bloated Whispering Death in the center. Toothless is mad that she cut Hiccup's arm, but won't attack a mother. Eventually, Astrid charms the mother into leaving and they evacuate the area. They find a nice cave to hold up in to wait out the winter. One night, all the dragons leave at once. Hiccup tries to follow, but Astrid holds him back. After a day they all go out to find the dragons fighting the Whispering Death's mate, arriving just in time to see Toothless fend off the mate, but the fall the to ground in scarlet when he leaves. After a few weeks, Toothless is on the mend, but a rift has formed between Astrid and Hiccup. Eventually spring comes, and another hurricane sweeps trough. It rips a line back in the direction of the one that took their village, so they follow it.

Ok so I took a look at the pictures and came up with this for the storyline:
After Hiccupβs victory over the Green Death, all of Berk decided to mark that day as the start of a change in history. Two months later, all the Vikings had to prepare for the winter that was coming up fast. All the teenagers of Berk decided to hunt together in a group. But as they were heading to the hunting grounds, they got caught up in a storm and were thrown off course. They ended up on a deserted island. Or so they thought. As the group searched the island for shelter, they came across a dark cave. The Vikings started to investigate the cave, but the dragons kept their distance frightened by what lies within. Confused, Hiccup decided to go in and see what was scaring the dragons. He searched everywhere in the cave and found nothing. He was about to tell the others that all was clear but he heard a noise, turned around and came face to face with a pair of glowing, unfriendly eyes. He ran screaming to the entrance of the cave and got out the way just in time before a loud, earth-shaking roar came bursting out of the cave. That was a clear sign to get the heck out of there. Once out of sight, Snoutlout took out the map his dad gave him that had all the hot hunting spots and where not to go. βArrgh, I canβt see anything. Itβs too dark out.β He complained. βI sure hope that our surval chances are up in the higher double digits.β said a anxious Fishlegs. After looking around, the group came across a small abandoned cave. Morning came up after a long night and a tired Tuffnut decided to warm up with the sun. βFinally,β he said, βmorning has come.β He stretched, yawned, let the sun warm his face. Suddenly all was black and cold as he got his in the face with a snowball. A laugh was heard nearby followed by a voice saying, βHowβs that for a wake up call?β The Zippleback that the twins were sharing laughed with Ruffnut as she laughed her head off. βWhy you-!β Tuffnut screamed as he tackled his sibling hard to the ground. Several hours had past and Hiccup, with his dragon buddy Toothless, decided to find food for the group. Just as they past a large amount of rock, Toothless went into a defense position and started growling. Hiccup was about to ask what was wrong when a huge Whispering Death had tackled Toothless. Hiccup stood petrified as his dragon fought the beast. Then Toothless looked over at Hiccup and made a motion to leave the area, followed by a smile saying that he can handle the monster. Hiccup soon got the message and left to find the others, leaving Toothless to handle the fight. He soon got back with the group, explained what happened, and was about to go back out but Astrid pointed that snow was falling again. They decided to wait until the snow lightened. Once it did, the group went out to find Toothless. They called his name and went to the area he was last seen at. All that was found at the sight was a black figure lieing on the ground, coated in blood. βToothless!β Hiccup shouted in fear as he ran to the fallen beast. He did everything he could to get Toothless to respond but there was only silence. Stricken with sadness, Hiccup hugged his dragon friend and prayed that somehow Toothless would wake up. Then, as if his prayers we answered, he felt the beast gasp for air. βToothless?β Hiccup l ooked a Toothlessβs face and started crying as he wraped his friend in a relieving hug. As the group rejoiced seeing that Toothless was alright, the sky cleared. The following day, all the teens returned to Berk with fresh kill in hand and explained why it took so long to bring the kill back. Months had past and all of Berk was blooming with life as spring came around as fast as a night furyβs flight. Toothless was chasing butterflies when his loyal viking companion came by him. βHey buddy, you ready to fly again?β Toothless responded with a usual snort and shake of the head. So Hiccup mounted his friend and they flew off into the sun with their friends as they did before.

Hehe, so nice! I liked Fishlegs and Snotlout together screenshot! I always though them as a duo, like Beavis and Butt-head! Fishlegs is Beavis and Snotlout is Butt-Head! ^_^

Now, for storyline:
It's a week or two after the 'epic battle' between Toothless and BDU (Big Dumb and Ugly). Stoick the Vast is congratulating his song (for the umpteenth time) on helping free the dragons from their mind control. On a whim, Gobber suggests that Hiccup and Toothless 'go and see the world' (Meaning go find the Troll's Lair, because we all know that people need their left sock).
Hiccup accepts this horizon broadening expedition, and we now see him and Toothless on their way to Odin knows where. Along the way, however, they become separated. Hiccup wanders through the forest, looking mildly nervous at being alone and pretty much useless aside from his trusty knife. A pair of large eyes follow his movements for several days.
It's been a couple weeks. Fishlegs, Snotlout, Ruff n' Tuffnut, and Astrid have ventured out in search of their friend. They find nothing but some ripped clothing and fur stuck to some branches. Snotlout hates maps, as we see here (if its a map, anyway), and is busy yelling and threatening to rip it apart with his face, while Fishlegs has a bad feeling.
Two more days, and it's snowed. Ruffnut and Tuffnut get into a snowball fight, with Tuffnut getting snowball'd. Self explanatory panel for the win! A storm begins to roll in when the group wanders up on Hiccup and Toothless, who have been reunited. Hiccup's been hurt, and Toothless is upset because of this. Suddenly, as the storm rolls in, Toothless leaps into the air.
Judging by Hiccup's absence in the battle panel, I'm assuming Hiccup's jerry-rigged an apparatus that'll allow Toothless to fly without him for a certain length of time. Epic battle between Toothless and the Thunderdrum that's been eyeing Hiccup for two weeks ensues, and we can only assume that neither dragon won, as both go down somewhere to other than where the group's at.
Taking shelter in a cave, Astrid sees Hiccup getting ready to head into the storm. She stops him, demands to know what he's doing. He explains that he 'can't leave Toothless out there alone. He has to find him.' Astrid, stunned by the boy's love for his dragon, lets him go. Hiccup wanders for hours, and in a strange twist of fate, finds Toothless the same way he found him the first time. Broken trees and a trench in the ground lead him to a downed Toothless, blood splattered around him ... and a charred Thunderdrum laying dead nearby.
Hiccup falls to his knees next to Toothless, and clings to his friend, thinking he was dead. All we see at this point is the dragon's ear twitching, and much like in the movie, Toothless turns his head and lets out a prumming sound. Fade to black with tears of joy.
Fast forward about ... oh ... four years later. Toothless is fine, if a bit scarred up, and Hiccup is finally showing that he just might be a man, hence the awesome goatee. In another strange twist of fate, Hiccup and Toothless end up where they first met, in the forest. I'm going to take artistic license and say Astrid is probably somewhere near or behind them.

i find the snow scenes to be very important because, like you said, it does snow for 9 months of the year, a detail most fans tend to forget.
man dreamworks is so SCREWED if they mess up HTTYD2. like, seriously.

This is great, by the way you're trying to be sneaky cause you avoided drawing Hiccup's prosthetic leg.
By the way has anybody noticed that when people draw Fishlegs and Snotlout together they are always out looking for something, atleast the few times they appear by themselves.
