Hiccup can probably visit the most beautiful places with toothless.this is most background practice, and lightning and such, gawd I had the worst art block today. it hurteeed.

*glomps you* Wow, I love your work on Hiccup! Just to sum up all of the OTHER comments on this page. XD Yeah, ignore my smart-mouth comments.
I wanted to point out... it looks like you lighting on the background is coming from the opposite direction than the lighting on Hiccup. If that's on purpose, it makes Hiccup stand out really well in the foreground. If not... don't worry, I've done it to. I just thought I'd give you a heads-up.
On the other hand, I like the dreamy, vague look you have going here. It makes me feel like the landscape is supposed to be unreal, something that you could only see in a land that bred dragons.

yeah the lightning is totally fail. I was trying to get the light to like... reflect to his face by the mountain side.

I thought that might be the case. Here's a tip (though I'm hardly in a position to be dishing these out to artists like you...):
When you're trying to depict the reflective light, you end up with what is essentially TWO light sources. The brighter one will of course be the closer of the two.
The fact that the lighting from the mountainside is bright is fine- you may want to consider giving us a glimpse of what is reflecting the light though- a pale rock-face, a waterfall (those work very well, by the way) etc. This will help make the changing light more believable in the eyes of the viewer.
The second light source (this would be the sun in Hiccup's case) will be throwing a weaker light, because our hero is standing in the shadow of the hill behind him. Traces of that light source would be seen near the skin (faint shadows cast by clothes, hair, etc.) and his hair (because of its texture).
Is this making any sense at all? Because if it's not, I can just stop here.

OMG I love the lighting and the background It looks great, but you should practice becoming more detailed with the backgrounds, now. Right now, everything just looks like paint-brush smears. It's pretty, but I suggest taking it up a notch
