Description DETAILS
This is a character I had created in the 1990s for the dice rpg WEREWOLF: THE APOCALYPSE. In the game, werewolves weren't the evil, demonic, and blood-thirsty monsters like we've known them to be when we were little kids. In this game, they were actually one of the first protectors of the Earth; rich in culture, deeply in touch with nature, and as strong as they were brave. Their mission in life was to preserve balance but their numbers had dwindled over time.

They belonged in different tribes, but they weren't all united and the world was facing a crisis it wasn't even fully aware of. This character was part of a tribe known as the Children of Gaia.

The Children are a tribe of Garou whose main goal is joining together all of Gaia's creation to give them a chance to save themselves should werewolves fail to prevent the Apocalypse from happening. One of their practices is to teach humans better behavior in order to shield them against the Wyrm's corruption. Their reputation as being 'soft' among the other werewolf tribes is a result of this. In addition, most Children of Gaia don't see fighting duels as a suitable way to solve disputes with other tribes. Their hesitation and preferred diplomatic and intelligent solutions are sometimes perceived as cowardly. But—those perceptions aside—the Children are just as potent fighters as all the other tribes of werewolves. Their access to a unique self-healing power especially makes them dangerous.

One of their own, Joseph Nitaskeha, was one of the rare few of the Children who would put diplomacy second to a tribal duel if it he believed it would immediately fix a problem. He has been taught the ways, beliefs, and secrets of the Children but he has voiced on more than one occasion his doubts about certain things. While he is loyal and recognized as a mostly trusted member of their tribe, the Children of Gaia consider him somewhat of a black sheep. Taking this in stride, Joseph had turned the label into the alias he uses among humans when he interacts with them: Jo Blacksheep.
