I dedicate this comic to all the people (or at least person) pointing out that I don't do comics with male characters.Also, if Princess Celestia and Princess Luna rule the kingdom of Equestria, and Queen Chrysalis rules the Changeling Empire... what would an Empress rule?

As for your question about the rulers, I think it's really just them trying to keep it simple. If we really wanted to get technical, Cadence and Shining Armor are the Emperor and Empress of the Crystal Empire, while Celestia is "High Queen" or "High Princess" of Equestria, which her sister being "Queen" or "Princess of the Realm", with Twilight being also a "Princess of the Realm" and Blueblood actually being "Prince of the Realm" or "Archduke of Canterlot" with the rest of the Mane Six being "Dames of Friendship" or "Dames of Equestria".
