I dedicate this comic to all the people (or at least person) pointing out that I don't do comics with male characters.Also, if Princess Celestia and Princess Luna rule the kingdom of Equestria, and Queen Chrysalis rules the Changeling Empire... what would an Empress rule?

How so? Thorax doesn't have to be of the original changelings.

It's a combo of the whole "Celestia maiming entire changeling race" (which apparently means all sons and daughters are also horribly maimed by IDW logic), and the fact that the last 3 changeling appearences in the comics simply aren't brought up in the slightest, not even a throwaway mention. You'd think they'd mention the Siege arc at the very least given they invaded it.

Though, the villain origin comics can still be considered canon, (except the ending of the Chrysalis one wouldn't be "canon") because nothing has been done that would prove otherwise.

The Changelings were named in-episode as having a kingdom, though. I won't deny, however, the show is horrible about proper nomenclature.

This episode actually opens many story possibilities, since (as far as we know) Changelings can morph into anypony, and Thorax appears to be male, what does that mean for the concept of gender identity in the Changeling kingdom? Thorax may be the first truly gender-fluid character in kid's media.
