Ironically, I'm pretty sure that Discord doomed Chrysalis in his attempts to help you. Maybe Cozy Glow too, or maybe not, and admittedly probably not Tirek, but almost certainly Chrysalis was on a path that could easily be right until Discord interfered.
Luna was reformed when she was defeated. Starlight was reformed in an emotional breakdown as she revealed her inner pain. Sunset was reformed in the bottom of a crater. And on, and on, because to be reformed you must first fall low enough that you'd rather admit you were so very wrong than stay where you are. And what of our dear deposed changeling queen? When she was ranting to trees, having not been seen since a scheme that failed so dismally that her victims didn't even realize they were victims, she was looking pretty low. Chrysalis is a proud changeling, to be sure, but the path she was on contained only failure and there's only so much of that that her pride could have taken. She never had the skills to run an evil scheme without backup, after all. But then Discord picked her up, gave her hope, and set her up with allies she could mostly rely on. And how's Twilight supposed to get to her when she's got hope and allies?

Yes, Twilight, do the right thing! They can be reformed with enough time, patience and effort although you probably shouldn't try it alone.
I'm guessing that something is going to go wrong leading to Celestia and Luna's discovery. Twilight should have plan gave this out a bit more.
